Hell I think part of the success was its a buddy cop/detective/almost film noir story and that's just a genre that doesn't get a lot of quality content anymore.
Absolutely, it's strange that we don't see more of it all things considered. I was so bummed that The Nice Guys and The Other Guys both didn't perform well in theaters. (Also, those two make an...

Yeah, okay, I'm in. Actually, I think I like this better than an attempt to tell the story - first, don't give stuff away, although obviously they're helping this cute-ass snake. Second, we're...

I think this was a clever and useful trailer. Show the animation. Give us some stuff to laugh at that won't spoil the movie. I like it.

Judy and Nick, as well as our new protagonist Gary, are all on the run from cops. So this implies that Judy and Nick are framed for a crime they didn't commit, or caught up in something, since otherwise why would they be chased by other police departments?
We got glimpses of a lot of other cities in the travel - implying a globetrotting adventure? That's quite exciting!
There's obviously the tease of a mysterious villain - but also, the transition to the villain stare-down is a curtain of pink/purple gas. I wonder if this is related to whatever plot or scheme this villain has?
We get a rapid-fire sequence of a lot of the other kooky characters, and noticeably, Bellwether is among them looking sly and whatnot. This could just be a cameo, but I wonder if she could be serving in some sort of 'Hannibal Lecter' style role in the sequel, with Judy and Nick having to turn to her for some sort of intel.
The first Zootopia movie exceeded my expectations, and I'm a sucker for the genre. Very hopeful that the second movie is just as good, if not moreso.
This was the first thing I thought of as well. It seems pretty common that when a series has a villain go to jail instead of getting killed off, either they'll escape eventually or there will be a...

This was the first thing I thought of as well. It seems pretty common that when a series has a villain go to jail instead of getting killed off, either they'll escape eventually or there will be a scene like this where the hero goes to them for intel. I enjoyed seeing that trope in Legend of Korra, just as a random example. It can be fun to see how an established villain reacts to the new kid on the block, or to give them more time to interact with the hero(es). Billwether didn't get a ton of screentime, especially not as a villain, so it's not the worst idea to give her villain side an extra scene. The character's still alive, so might as well use them!
I'm trying to remember if we saw many reptiles or birds before. Something about the villain gave me bird vibes (owl vibes maybe?) but I think it's been really heavily mammals, and I can't recall...

I don’t believe the first movie had any reptiles or birds. Zootopia was canonically a mammalian city IIRC. I think they intentionally left them out for a possible sequel, follow-up series, etc.

I wondered about that. Apparently they couldn't trademark Zootopia in a lot of European territories, due to...well, zoos. Or Zoomania. At the end of the day, at least they didn't call it Zoophilia.

I have no idea what I watched nor do I know what I should take away from it, other than Zootopia is getting a sequel... Which is cool, I did like the first one

With 100% more house music. Nice.

I assume it's basically attempting to build excitement, i.e. "You ready? 3… 2.… 1… let's go!"
