I got you. Dig into GnomeSlice's collection on bandcamp. He's one of listentothis' mods, our resident electro guru and he's huge into outrun and related styles. I guarantee you'll find more albums you'll enjoy in there than you can afford to buy. :)

Also be sure to check out /r/outrun on reddit and /r/vaporwave on reddit. Both have pretty extensive archives at this point, you could spend weeks cratedigging there. Probably worth a look at /r/synthwave as well.

For myself I'll recommend Starcadian. Hands down my favorite of the retro-80s electronic crowd. His debut LP Sunset Blood is truly outstanding start to finish. He's got some pretty kickass music videos too.

Didn't think to check the vaporwave subreddit so will have a browse. Funny you say about Starcadian, Famvs (Alternate Version) popped up on my spotify discover playlist and was instantly added, will check him out.

I'd call it funky synthwave with a splash of disco and some trip-hop influences. Good stuff by any name. Starcadian is my spirit animal. I was largely ignoring the synthwave scene until that album...

Starcadian is my spirit animal. I was largely ignoring the synthwave scene until that album landed in my lap and reminded me that I love that sort of music, and had simply forgotten about it.

Went and saw Carpenter Brut in London end of last year, it was some awesome stuff, very much on the heavier side of things.

I'd highly recommend taking a look through that and see if you find any new ones. It looks like he also put out a Top 10 Synthwave Albums of 2018 article that I haven't looked at yet.

Some good mixes by Asthenic on YT/Soundcloud - all artists given in the video descriptions, with links to their Soundcloud pages. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZyXa4H06Ws3Pwom9cYEdDA...

Thanks, there's some good mixes there, easy to skip through and just find that sound you know you're going to like.

I've also been enjoying Jam2go recently. I'm not sure his work is synthwave, but it's certainly a similar genre.

It's a podcast and not an artist perse, but I really enjoy Beyond Synth with Andy Last.

Late to the thread but I prefer some Perturbator for me, although it's on the heavier side of things.

"Late" isn't really a thing here, since comments bump threads that are up to 7 days old l believe.

        * The visibility of a bumped thread does depend on each user's personal sorting preference, though.

Not entirely sure if it's explicitly synthwave, but l find that some of The Algorithm's songs fit the theme. Bit metally though.

I don’t listen to much synthwave but you might like F.O.O.L; I recommend his semi-recent Highway EP or Showdown.
