Share Your Mastodon IDs!
Hi all! Would you like to share your Mastodon IDs with other ~ so that we can follow each other over there and maybe also help users who, like me, want to get into this new social network but don't know any users yet?
I'm @cadadr@mastodon.sdf.org.
Akir@mastodon.sdf.org, here.
I used to have an account - maybe more than one - but then our server more or less... died. Does anyone know of good communities? Choosing a new one is a bit intimidating.
I'm using the https://mastodon.sdf.org one, generic but tech oriented. https://sdf.org is a provider of Unix shell accounts and related services like e-mail and websites and even gopher sites, its a community that's been going on since the 80s. IIRC the base account was $5 when I paid for it, it's a one time payment.
Also, there's always https://mastodon.social/.
I actually got an ARPA account back in June, never did much of anything (interacting with new people!) since.
Don't you have a website there, also?
I have http://igk.inlisp.org/, but it just points to my main website. I use gitlab for it, but one day I'll add a gopher frontend to it using SDF.
Warning it's very very gay lol https://mastodon.social/@nektro with some code stuff thrown in
I toot about tech-y stuff and personal projects. https://mastodon.technology/@limeth
md@mastodon.technology ... I use it in spurts, sometimes I toot a lot, then get bored and stop.
Just started :-)
@soptik@fosstodon.org
Welcome!
I'm pretty active on mastodon (even though I mostly just lurk here on tildes). I'm @codesections@fosstodon.org over there, and toot mainly about tech/programming/foss (I'm learning rust right now, so a lot of my recent toots have been about how fun that's been).
Also, if you're looking to join mastodon and are at all interested in tech, I really recommend fosstodon.org. We've got a pretty good thing going there—with a community that's pretty similar to what tildes is going for.
I'm on https://mastodon.social/@starchturrets
Here's mine. I mainly just boost stuff I like, and sometimes I'm active... and sometimes not. Tend to lurk on the federated timeline and just reply to anything that catches my interest.
I could use some help getting started. Not sure what to write yet. topics are likely to be queer stuff + computers don't work. https://niu.moe/@rain
Had vaguely heard of Mastodon, but never really knew what it was. I checked it out and I love the concept! Reminds me of the usenet of old.
I just created @Hypersapien@mastodon.social
I'm @CedarMadness@mastondon.technology. I post on there occasionally, but I've been meaning to get on more often now that I've found some interesting people to follow.
This post, among others, made me finally delve into explanations of the fediverse to try to figure it out. I'm still not sure I understand, but I figure there's no time like the present to learn! Thus, I just joined Mastodon and am available here: @kfwyre@mastodon.host
In my search I also found out about pixelfed (a federated Instagram clone) and signed up to that as well. Not sure if anyone else is on there, but if so: @kfwyre@pixelfed.social
Pixelfed seems pretty jazzy! I recall seeing it a while back, but didn't register for whatever reason. I'm @junipermonkeys@pixelfed.social.
Hey I'm on pixelfed too! I haven't posted anything yet because I don't do photography much, but anyway I'm at @acdw@pixelfed.social.
I don't really do photos either. I'm instead using Pixelfed as a public book log--almost like Goodreads without any of the features (which is exactly what I want). With audiobooks and ebooks I miss out on covers and the feeling of a "shelf" of books, so I'm recreating that there as I read, and it's really quite nice.
I don't think it's the intended use for Pixelfed, but dansup, its creator, has liked a couple of my posts, so I assume that means I at least have tacit approval to use the platform in that manner.
That sounds like a great idea! I write on my personal site about the books I read right now, but maybe I could post their covers on pixelfed and hotlink em from there to save bandwidth. Though that's probably a dick move... So maybe I'll just cross-post.
I don't post anything, just retoots. (might change)
@avizini on social.weho.st
I'm @grand0rbiter@fosstodon.org
Mine is lumbo7332@linuxrocks.online. I talk about gaming stuff and projects I follow, mostly.
I'm @acdw@writing.exchange. I usually shit-post; that's what I see on my feed. Sometimes I ask questions or am real.
Mine is @admicos@mastodon.social. However, I have nothing to write, so it's empty for now. Occasionally I'll check the federated timeline whenever I remember Mastodon exists, but that's it, really.
