For those who might not think too far ahead (like me), don't open this at work. I opened it on my phone and was greeted with the page for Unassisted Childbirth; full nudity and all. So.... be careful!

Wikipedia must have far more NSFW pages than I thought. I was messing around with this a little earlier and saw nothing concerning, but I opened it just now to the first page being "labia". I was...

nice! I especially respect their non-tracking non-algorithmn approach. It's like Stumbled Upon but for wikiepdia. They already have different languages.... I wonder if it's possible (edit: for me)...

They already have different languages.... I wonder if it's possible (edit: for me) to make one for my dad, just animals, scenery, maybe if we can also get some dancing aunties in there .... might be able to combat hostile brain rot from tiktok et al. Maybe the Wikipedia API has categories.... wouldn't want to randomly scroll into an article about human atrocities at 7am.
This is actually a really cool idea to cater to what is currently the most popular browsing style. I personally do not like the tiktok-like interface, but I'm just "old man yells at cloud". I like...

I like that it's random and not being controlled by some algorithm.

I'm with you, I don't love this format and I can't engage with it personally but it is nice to see something like this exist for those who do because that's what seems to be a majority of the younger population now. Wikipedia does have its own random article feature, both on the website and the app.
Is there a way to choose what topics randomly come up? Like Id really love random species of animals, but maybe not historical porn from the 1600s Ive had the wiki app for years now and I never...

Ive had the wiki app for years now and I never use the random article feature cause most of the articles I have no interest in.

Is there a setting to switch to desktop-friendly layout? Right now, it expands the image to fill the entire width of the screen and crops off most of the top and bottom of the image. The text excerpt is also small and sometimes hard to read against the background. So it ends up being a bunch of super zoomed-in pictures of people's chins and maps that have half their data cropped away. It would make much more sense on desktop to size the image to match the vertical height of the screen and use empty space on the side for the text.
Not at this time, dev is taking issues though. Not sure if the infinite scroll would work as well on a desktop. https://github.com/IsaacGemal/wikitok/issues/ Edit: There’s an issue about...

Seems like a missed opportunity to just call it WikTok.
It's weird how many 3-10 minute videos there are on there then

I added the NSFW tag to this topic, so hopefully it helps prevent that happening to other people.
Incredible! Most pages are just plants, animals or some chemical compound. Getting that as your first hit sure is something.

There is an issue open for Filters on the GitHub.
@scrambo, I brought up an NSFW content filter there as well.

For some reason I had 5 results in a row for different Australian people, places or things.

Dev is working on a filter system
