Do you think an ~engineering group would make sense?
I think it would, that's something that interests a vast number of users. Things like construction, bridges, buildings, city planning, trains, etc. Right now they can go to ~misc or ~design which doesn't seem appropriate.
I don’t think it matters too much. Post whatever you want to post under ~misc and it will be classified and read. We are getting so few posts that people are going to at least see the headline.
Personally, I think all of those (especially city planning posts) are a good fit for ~design.
All the engineering posts I see generally seem to fall well into either ~design or ~tech.
I think a group like that was discussed multiple times. To me it would make sense, I've posted a lot of videos from Practical Engineering and they would fit nicely there. But I don't know if there would be much discussion / many articles posted to it beyond that?
I do find it bothersome that there isn't a "good" place to post non-comp engineering things, especially when we have both ~tech and ~comp (but I appreciate the split as we have enough of a techie audience for it to make sense). ~misc just tends to be too centered around politics. I think I would actually be less bothered if politics had their own group, which would make ~misc a bit more welcoming to the "rarer" subjects.
Maybe we could have ~engineering and ~comp would move to ~engineering.comp.
