Tildes down?

It was down overnight, yes (went down shortly after I went to bed, of course).
It shouldn't have been related to traffic level at all, the server's load was very low (traffic has increased over the last few days, but still isn't high). At this point I'm not sure what the problem was either though, the server seems to have just suddenly stopped responding. I'll try investigating more into it later today.
I think that's probably the longest unplanned downtime we've ever had?

Does tildes have a status page?
if it's at all linked to oracle cloud they had a huge outage last night, basically everything was down including VPS in Ashburn.
Behavior sounds like Nginx worker connections were exceeded. Depending on your reporting that could give the impression that it wasn’t related to a traffic increase because Nginx is killing off the extra connections.
Just a stab in the dark.
Or it could be one of a million other things.
It was. Roughly seven hours. It only just came back up.
My suspicion is we got the hug of death, considering the lack of warning.
My gut feeling too. Especially when I checked in on the r/tildes invite thread today and saw it sat at 1.6K comments. 😂
That was my hope/fear :D
