What is the best way to provide small bits of feedback about Tildes?

I have a small suggestion for a change to Tilde's mobile design and I'm apprehensive about posting a whole new thread here since it's relatively insignificant. This makes me wonder in general what the best way is for me and others to submit ideas or issues without creating the clutter of a lot of threads.

Would it be appropriate to create somewhat specific feedback threads? E.g. one for design issues and suggestions, one for feature suggestions, one for general bug reports, etc.? At the end of the day, I just want to let someone know about my suggestion without creating noise.

If you want to generate a bit of discussion about a potential change, you can post in ~tildes directly or look for other threads in ~tildes that are discussing ideas/changes to see if there is a recent one. Here’s one from yesterday you could definitely post an additional idea to.

This. I make it a point to read absolutely every topic and comment in ~tildes, so if you mention it somewhere in here I will usually see it, and add an issue to Gitlab for it. But feel free to ping me using @cfabbro in the comment too, just in case I miss it.

And as streblo said, everyone is also free to add their own issues to Gitlab... which saves me the effort of having to do it myself. Don't worry about getting the wording and everything absolutely correct either. I will edit them if they need it, label them appropriately, and close it if its a duplicate.

If it's at all helpful, the fact that this is basically the first conversation I've read here is really positive and welcoming. Not a lot of places that have active moderation like that.

Aw, thanks! Though technically I am only a moderator on /r/tildes, reporter on Tildes Gitlab, and have no official title here on the site (or in the non-profit). So I'm basically just a volunteer. Deimos is the sole admin here, and only real moderator for the site at present.

          p.s. Welcome to Tildes! :)

Oh so like an actual moderator should be! I understand the dynamic, I just figured it would be welcome to throw out that that kind of effort is noticed. Thanks for the welcome! I guess we're all...

Thanks for the welcome! I guess we're all gonna see if we can experiment our way to a better internet community experience.

That's the purpose of the ~tildes group, so you are in the right place. If you are worried about clutter, don't be. Once the idea has been shared and a ticket created in gitlab or whatnot, we can delete the threads if necessary. Hard to imagine seeing so many threads here that it becomes a problem, and if it ever did, we could pop off a little subgroup for the small things. Post as you like, there are no powermods here to bite your head off and there never will be. ;)
