If someone exemplaries your post, do you get notified?
Admittedly this is just a short question.
Do threads get an extra bump as well?

No, but if you check your profile you'll see it
yes and no
in the context of the post, exemplary will show up above similarly voted but non-exemplary content... hitting the exemplary button does not count as replying, however, so will not bump up the recent activity of the thread
No notifications yet, though that's not a bad idea for a profile setting. It does multiply the weight of the votes cast, and each additional exemplary label increases that multiplier. I think it's at +50% right now, so 10 votes + 1 exemplary is the same as 15 votes.
It's comments only right now. Someday when there's real competition for the front page something like it will probably exist for submissions too, but we're nowhere near needing it.
Some larger subreddits have a thread linking to exemplary comments, as a way to encourage quality conversation. Maybe Tildes should have a page showing them someday?
Unrelated but how do we exemplary a post?
You can only label comments as Exemplary.
To do so, you click on the "label" button underneath the comment and you choose "Exemplary" and then give a short description of why.
Had no idea that was a thing. Wow.
Oh, posting at 11PM is a bad idea, thanks for reminding me again.
I meant comment, sorry.
@mycketforvirrad, can you please edit my post again?
haha, it's fine.
