Agreed. My only solace is the fact that at least the creators know it's the last season ahead of time so they can make sure to give it a proper ending. Many shows don't get that chance.

I hope they realize that the success of Lower Decks shows that you can still do proper Trek stories. I'm worried they'll instead see it as even more "better shove in nostalgia" rather than...

I just watched the Voyager first episode though, and think that one holds up really well. I might have to rewatch that series now. :)
For sure. I had a ritual of reading a book and then watching Voyager every night when I was in high school. I also watched a lot of TNG, but Voyager holds a special place for me. There is one...

There is one episode called Virtuoso (s06e13) that I've been thinking a lot about lately as it relates to AI creations of art and music. Even though the episodes can be a bit cheesy, I think the topics are still very much relevant and worth watching.
I didn’t watch Voyager as it aired (only had OTA channels back then, so no UPN), but a few years ago I binged through all the Treks at somewhere between 1-3 episodes an evening, depending on time...

During that stint I found Voyager to be very good after work “comfort food” Trek. Not quite as heady as TNG on average but usually enjoyable to watch regardless.
The first episode is great, but the first two seasons imo have fewer great episodes than the first two seasons of TNG. The Kazon/Seska storyline was not very good.

Paramount is kind of having a rough year, so I get them not necessarily going all out on Star Trek day, but one examplar episode for each series would be kind of neat if you can't open the vault...

Specifically: The Original Series The Animated Series The Next Generation Deep Space 9 Voyager Enterprise Discovery Lower Decks Picard Strange New Worlds
I still think it's a crime that Lower Decks season 5 will be the last. It's the best Star Trek in years in my opinion.

Yeah...the first season or two for LOTS of Trek shows is pretty rough.

I actually really like Voyager. They’ve got lots of bad episodes, but 14 year old me just needed another dose of episodic Trek and Voyager delivered.

Is it just prodigy that's missing? And I suppose series yet to have been released.
Yes, presumably because of the whole Netflix distribution situation.
The Cage is the best Star Trek pilot by far.
