    Sweet Cuppin' Cakes!

Don's films are part of what I consider my foundational make up as a person. I have his DVD that came with two frames of the original Rejected film spliced up as goodies for fans.

If you're a fellow Millenial who miss the old days where we passed around 4-pixel clips of Rejected or Billy's Balloon, and haven't yet subscribed to Dropout, now's your chance to be a (with fondest regards) "consumer whore (and how!)"

Don's newer films are still highly experimental but more profound / existential. Try both.

I look forward to watching and rewatching them on the platform.

That is cool as hell. I’ve been hoping that Dropout and Nebula can start capturing more share from YouTube. I need to re-up Dropout because I only subscribe for a month or two once or twice a year, but my Nebula sub I’ve never let expire.

They have so much stuff on Dropout, but I think most of their fans don't watch everything. But yeah I hope they pick up steam just as YouTube is becoming more enshittified. (Edit typo)

oh damn that's "my anus is bleeding" guy! Just kidding I know he's (clearly) done more work than "Rejected" and I'm excited to dive into it with my wife.

I had not seen that one before, so I specifically sought it out last night. :D Did not disappoint!

Most of these streaming apps are horrendous. I can't open Disney+ without having to fight a bunch of stutter and auto-playing video just to resume watching the last thing I watched. Nebula is also buggy, scrolling left or right on certain rows in the news section sends you to the top of the page, making it impossible to select some videos. I'm convinced the software is bad on purpose.

For years I've just had my tv hooked directly to a computer. Whenever I do an upgrade, my old PC gets moved to the TV. I just have a firefox window with a bunch of tabs left open to all the streaming sites. No screwing around with smart TVs, ads, apps or anything. Plus it's easy to launch steam since it's all right there.

This is what I used to do, but using a computer from my couch just feels so cumbersome compared to a simple remote. The high power draw and lack of features like HDMI-CEC, framerate switching, and Dolby Vision have me inclined to put up with the buggier apps.

80% of my TV viewing is on my Jellyfin anyways.

Dropout's single biggest failure on their website is that when I click a show from the front page, it always shows the oldest season of the show.

Oh I didn't know that was a separate OS just assumed it was Android's app! Thanks!

I don't really have issues with the mobile app, what problems do you have? It's not top tier but it's worked fine for me
