Have you seen the new trigun? Really kicks ass. I'm surprised you didn't mention Dragonball z, that was one of my favorites on toonami.

This seems very kind with atlus, I'll still buy it dammit and then I'll buy the ultra version or whatever as well.

She didn't retire during Obama's presidency because she didn't expect him to be able to replace her with a liberal enough judge.

Started playing Detroit: Become Human because I finally had time! Recently rented it at a redbox figuring that it would be a nice way to kill a weekend, but it turns out that it requires a lot of time. The decision trees are massive, the voice acting, and the cinematics are absolutely perfect. I hadn't bought this on release because of how mild the reviews were (there are other games on my backlog as well).

When I finally played it, I was surprised by how toned down the story insanity was (which is generally something David Cage does in almost all his games), and the writing was decent! What really blew me away were the emotions that the Androids exhibited. The mocap for this game was also awesome. It had such a great pull as a cinematic experience that even my fiance got into it and watched my entire run. She'll be playing it next so I guess I won't be returning the game and instead I'll be keeping it as a purchase.

I fully recommend this game to anyone on the fence simply due to David Cage's name, or because of the reviews. I'm also surprised that this game got such a low review score as well. It's absolutely one of the most quality game titles I've played this year outside of God of War.

As an American, the true nightmare will be broadband caps + no internet neutrality (locking you down to specific streaming services to avoid going against your cap) + input lag (maybe increased input lag on newer games) + never owning anything (true DRM. No borrowing games, no selling used games). Also, pay to cheat. If this becomes more common, or atleast the norm, I'll pretty much just walk away from gaming.

I'm curious to see what happens with this. The Division was one of the first games I bought that was completely online and played it as a single player game. It was... lacking. The story wasn't developed, but the gameplay was pretty great. More and more though, triple A games are trying to become social platforms because seemingly that drives extended user engagement (and as a result, more long term money). I'm fairly against this idea, multiplayer games that can be played Solo will always lack the cinematic experience and narrative depth that you'd find in games like the recent God of war.

Single player narratives are more of my draw nowadays, as the amount of free time I have decreases by the year.

Somethingawfuls forums were pretty good but required a fee to join. This definitely hampered their membership though, but increased quality of posts..

I've always felt that way. I read the new York times and the Washington Post. The majority of their headlines end up in /r/politics. The only bias I've seen is their focus on a given topic. For example, they won't prorudce stories where republicans look good. Or the WaPo article doing a fact check on Bill Clinton's talk on NBC last night. It's biased but it's not pushing fake news. I'd like a more neutral political section here but it's difficult when you have someone as vitriolic as Trump in the White House. most republicans think anything critical of him shouldn't be allowed in general.

Even the bastion of neutrality /r/neutralpolitics was thrown off when trump supporters started brigading it asking very leading questions. They came into threads with misinformation and sources that were verifiably false. It required some fairly heavy handed moderation to take them down. I'm not sure if it's still a problem there, but I stopped visiting. At the moment I just stick with the newspapers. Less editorial, more reporting.

I agree. Reddit has a lot of posts but those posts have no discussion (nor is one really required). People go there to find esoteric things even though most porn websites these days have categories, comments, and sorting by top viewed, etc. I don't really see a need for Tildes to allow that sort of content when it's pretty well served in other locations. It also doesn't add the type of community members that would contribute much to the site.

This is going to be interesting. It's not like Fallout 4 wasn't incredibly buggy. Will it be a brand new engine? As a side note, i'm fairly disappointed since I'd rather play a single player RPG where you're the only main character in the game with a fairly set storyline. But then again, I'm a huge fan of KOTOR 1 & 2, but never played SWTOR. Too many quests that aren't meaningful, too many needless upgrades, and not enough depth to the story.

Online only probably means milking it via microtransactions as well.

That's the ideal way to go. Seems like reddit has had it's fair share of creeper porn, subreddits that only have links to videos, and others. While there's a place for that, it doesn't exactly foster any discussion. You'd have to disallow communities like Gonewild following that same philosophy. I've never found much use for the NSFW subreddits with just porn links but looking at reddit's most visited subs... those seem to be in the top.

The way Reddit has escaped this in the past was through the use of subreddits. They've been super helpful to create isolated communities but it leaves it up to your peers to find that community to begin with. With an influx of trolls you also end up with them finding and trying to ruin your community as well (/r/seattlewa and it's MAGA members for instance many of whom don't live in Seattle).

One of the biggest things I also noted is that people don't read the articles. Has anyone seen reallyread.it? Seems like a great concept. I can't help but feel that Reddit does feel like Facebook at times, with all the titlebait articles. This far however, the "best" comments are great at disseminating the nonsense. Although I doubt it'll stay that way as more users come.

Does Reddit also have a high participation rate? Or are most users just lurkers?

    Hey all,

I'm a Reddit user trying to find a better place to migrate to where the users aren't as inclinated to start a heated argument over relatively minor stuff (Reddit promotes that sort of behavior especially with the upvote downvote thing.)

I've been on Reddit right after digg did their redesign and I've been on digg before that happened. I'm in my early thirties even still I'm mostly interested in games, cooking, and politics.

It's great to see the way people are currently behaving here. I hope it continues to be a positive space for civil discourse. Echo Chambers such, but vitroil in responses sucks more.
