St Patrick's weekend here for us here, town (Dublin) will be rammed all weekend so I'm just chilling out today catching up on a few bits around the gaff / Rugby on in the background.

Will be pinting from early on tomorrow, hoping to escape the main streets before the madness kicks in later on!

I'm enjoy sporadically jumping in and out of titles and will frequently find myself returning to a game half way through, 3/4 months later. Having a visual representation like that easily accessible does wonders in getting me right back into the zone!

3DS - Been having issues with my hacked 3ds lately. The battery was draining almost instantly so I reset it to a backup but I ended up losing a lot of games I'd downloaded. Currently downloading New Super Mario Bros 2 for some nostalgia.

PS5 - Still running through Cyberpunk. I haven't touched the main storyline in quite a while, really enjoying just wandering around and "living" in the world. It's quite gloomy in my part of the world at the moment and the atmosphere matches well.

Switch - TOTK mainly but finding it hard to go back to it. Think I've gotten quite burnt out on it so I'll come back close to Christmas!

I'm interested on your perspective / input on what it was like to see the industry fall apart during the Atari era. Did a gradual level of contempt come into play / gamers were vocally unhappy? There presumably wasn't the same level of coverage of the industry back then vs now, but was there still news being reported on this / gaming magazines etc?

I'm playing through the Atari 50 collection currently and it's a great piece of media - almost like a documentary you can play through. Highly recommend it if you haven't already!

Off the top of my head:

Moved the Web Summit from Dublin to Lisbon, Portugal, because the government wouldn't adhere to ridiculous demands he was making i.e., wanting the city to come to a complete standstill/redirecting traffic on the day and providing Garda (police) escorts free of charge for guests.

Frequently criticised the Irish tax system whilst simultaneously being a tax exile/benefit of tax sheltering.

At the beginning of the pandemic, was guilty of scaremongering and tweeted claiming four nurses died from Covid. Health Service rightfully called him out on it, he apologises but later goes on the radio and is adamant he was correct re the original claim.

The above is just the stuff I think Irish people take particular issue with on a local level. There's plenty more on his Wiki page / controversy section if you are interested.

In a more general sense, in my opinion, he's perceived to be a bit of an obnoxious arsehole and his social media history, especially Twitter, backs this up.

Out of interest, do you know if the 41B they made in profit is solely from property? I work in asset management myself and RBC are a broker we'd deal with regularly. I'm just curious to see if that 41 figure is cumulative or if they are also killing it on the property side too?

Side note: Not excusing it for a second either. Here in Ireland we're in a similar situation, only two main banks and we're being completely shafted with the interest rates!!

Interesting to note, although he has stepped down as CEO, he's still the owner of the company itself. Let's see if they can bounce back from this, I'd doubt it though or at the very least, it'll not be the same for a long time.

I've recently binged on a lot of espionage books, so I think I'll jump back into "Dune" (the first one) and finally finish it before the second movie comes out.

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by a supply chain attack in this context? Would that be related to, say, clicking on harmful link when trying to access free streams/pirated content?...

Smelt a bit like crêpes (w butter, sugar combo)

I tried adding a bit of smoked pancetta, but it didn't land. Bit of a clash. O.G is best!
