As someone who 100% the game on PS3 originally, and never played Undead Nightmare, I feel I am maybe the only person excited for this release.

I don't have an Xbox, so the game pass excuse doesn't apply to me; I no longer have my PS3 or the game for it; and there's not really a good emulation solution to play this game. I played it at 30fps originally and wasn't bothered by it, can't imagine why I would be now. Hell, I'd be surprised if most PS4 titles ran at 60fps, I doubt they did.

I'm fine paying $50 for the game, it was probably $60 originally and was worth every cent. Just because it's older doesn't mean it isn't a content rich game. The value to me personally has not diminished.

My only reservation about it is how well it will perform. We all remember how the GTA Trilogy remaster was. If the game runs great on switch and has the same fidelity as the PS4 version I'll definitely be getting it on switch. If the switch port is worse than the PS4 port, I'll get it there.

You're telling me I can just rent a theater and they'll hook up my games to play on the movie screen for me??

Edit: I did a quick Google, looks like Cinemark charges $275 for 2 hours. Not a great deal, imo, but probably worth it for a bachelor party. AMC and Regal didn't seem to have options for videogames, just private movies. But individual theaters might let you do it depending on the manager if you ask.

I spent a good portion of last night trying to set up Stable Diffusion on my computer using Automatic1111 Web UI to create AI generated images. There's a few communities on Reddit and Lemmy for AI generated images and I was really impressed by the dreamlike and surreal sort of stuff it can put out, that also looks very real at times.

Automatic1111 is a very simple to set up UI that works through your web browser, so I figured I'd give it a try. I'm not the most technologically literate person, but I can often stumble my way through and it really wasn't much more than installing the right version of Python and running a .bat file.

The biggest hurdle was finding out that the official version doesn't have AMD GPU support, and having to start over with an unofficial fork that does support AMD. Got that running and put in a very simple prompt, "white kitten playing with a red ball on a woven rug in a modern living room".

Hit run, and watch the progress bar crawl along for about 20sec before I get an error message... My rx470 doesn't have enough vram to generate the image lol.

It opened me up to the inner workings of this nascent little hobby and community though, so I am very excited to one day upgrade my hardware and give it a try myself!

I feel like there's equal cause to de-gender some pronouns. "Guys" to me, is entirely generally neutral, same as "Dude". I do not nor ever have used them or any other version of those words as anything but gender neutral.

I know that for many, and for a long time, those words were specific to a gender, but I think the organic evolution of linguistics doesn't mean they still have to.

I am exactly in the same boat as you, but I never listened to nu-metal and post-grunge or emo even at the time. I was a Classic Rock "purist" until just before Highschool when I got into Indie Rock with bands like Arcade Fire, The Temper Trap, Vampire Weekend, The Strokes and The Shins. Among others.

I cannot separate emo/nu-metal/post-grunge from cringe, but realistically I know it's a remnant of being an even more conceited person then than I am now. I have a hard time not referring to that music as the pejorative "Butt-Rock", even though I know it's an elitist term used by pretentious snobs.

I've learned that when I feel dismissive of genres, I need to just let it go and allow others to enjoy it. I'm not upset that they don't listen to the same Sad/Angry Boi music I do (indie and punk respectively lol), though I find they're often upset that I don't enjoy the music they do. But I don't want to contribute to that feedback loop of negativity.

Another genre I can't get into that I get a lot of flak for is Country, but while I grew up around it I didn't grow up with it and it was always talked about as being for lowbrow rednecks. I still have a hard time not seeing it in that light, despite knowing there is good country that isn't Bro-Country and She Thinks My Tractors Sexy.

Ween made my favorite country album.

I truly only want a more powerful version of the switch, but with the QoL improvements that the 3ds had.

The fact that we never got themes, folders, and the eshop is a poorly implemented webpage are honestly wild to me. Or rather, would be, if it wasn't Nintendo lol.

I think being backwards compatible is key to consumers though, I'll be very upset if it isn't.

The final thing I'll say, is I hope that it is powerful enough to stay relevant, not just powerful enough to be relevant for a year or two (in regards to AAA games). I don't need or expect it to be more powerful than current gen consoles, but at least more powerful than PS4/xb1.

The steam deck, and the future of premium handhelds on the horizon, is a huge competitor to Nintendo's space and I'd hate to see them fall behind.

I was just playing a game and someone was posting obvious rage-bait. Nobody acknowledged it and the guy eventually just quit the game and we were able to get back to normal conversations.

I think that is a bit of a cop-out though, certainly Activision blizzard can afford to make any MMO they want. I get they also have to balance out the cost vs value, but if they don't do something WoW will continue to die. And cost/value was just as much a risk, if not more so, for WoW at launch in the mid 2000's when MMO's were still very niche.
