Does anyone actually want to see this? Am I going to eat my words when this makes two billion dollars?

Without any regard to whether it's actually a good game after technically running okay

At some point they started just doing a bunch of souped up in game items like strong swords or power ups. Like, I could just turn down the difficulty if I wanted it to be easier

I loved most of the talos principle but there was one riddle that you basically needed to go on Wikipedia and look up the history of the invention of the sun dial or something that basically ruined it for me. I know it's a small thing but it completely broke my immersion and trust in the game.

I've heard a few people say they did every single puzzle without looking up a guide once, and... Okay. I think those people have to be outliers.

I did absolutely love the moment you realized you could solve puzzles from outside their own boundaries, utilizing elements from other puzzles to solve the one you're on, or meta puzzles. Such an incredible moment going "hmm, I can see that laser from the last puzzle from where I am. That would be so helpful right now, I wish I could just point it over here. Wait.... Wait a second...."

Love dungeon crawler Carl. Its originality comes from the video game/RPG veneer, which rapidly broke out as its own whole genre

Power imbalance is just what he admitted to

I can believe this is possibly a "the truth is somewhere in the middle" situation, but if the truth is somewhere in the middle, it means he's maybe not a monster but is still pretty fucked up.

I really feel like this is one of those issues where i'm just hearing extremism and hyperbole from both sides...

but I also can't figure out why that version of the spin seems to amount to "It's not a big deal since I'm not even really developing most of the land, except that I am, but that doesn't count". Like, what are you getting all that land for if you're not using it?

I saw devil wears Prada 2 the other day. It had some really nice moments and a few resolutions to character arcs I didn't even know I wanted. But it also felt a little like a hollow version of the first movie, just some light entertainment. A lot of it didn't quite make sense as a movie or was trying a little too hard.

Absolutely worth a watch but maybe better for a night in on the couch.
