    misc note: it's 125 Gb, which is 2600% larger than the original. My hard drive does not like the trend of every new game being massive.

    I've been learning elisp by making an automatic file namer for emacs. It just cuts each word, sorts them based on frequency, then sorts out the top 100 most common words.

    The idea is from this horrid one liner from one of my bash scripts

    FILENAME=$(tr '[:upper:]' '[:lower:]' < "$FILE"| tr -s '[:space:]' '\n' | tr -d '[:punct:]' |
    grep -vwFf .stopwords.txt | grep -E '.{5,}' | sort |
     uniq -c | sort -nrk1,1 | awk '{print $2}' | head -n1)

    Found someone who used OCR to scan the pdf and put the results in a git repo There's also a decompilation, I wonder how the two compare? Interesting stuff.

    For $15 it's a steal. I can't imagine it would be a purchase you'd regret, because you'll almost certainly finish the story.

    I really wish normies could be sold on more privacy conscious options. However, I am a bit of a crazy person. The introduction of ai tooling for firefox nightly made me switch to Librewolf.

    You're right! The appeal is that other people are reading it. Although it's still likely one of the most read books for any given year, the "harry potter craze" has been finished for quite a while.

    If you're talking specifically to a literature person, their opinion is likely different than it was in the 2010s. It's ability to find mainstream appeal doesn't matter as much to me.

    For the purpose of *scripting on a *nix system it's really good. Like if you know command line you know bash. It would, however, be psychotic to recommend it for any other purpose.

    Lolita is beautifully written, frustratingly so. I would want nothing more than to discount it completely, but it demands attention. Nabokov only gives hints to the reader as to why this is happening. Why this is a story worth being told, and what makes men like these.

    For Purity of Heart, I think I would recommend it for a new reader before Either/Or. Especially for a religious or ex-religious mind.
