I’m more concerned with the 50-100k people with 5%-10% of global wealth. They have the power and influence to keep the distribution the way it is and to further consolidate their own.

The global 1% is more or less those with wealth over 1M usd. That’s a lot of folks who just have homes and a 401K. It is not folks flying in private planes.

It’s the same if you look at taxes. Taxes on the 1% haven’t really changed much in decades. Even before Reagan. The 0.01% however? They are doing //great//!

ChatGPT does not know anything about. ChatGPT is fancy auto-complete. When you type “How many licks does..” into google and google finishes with “take to get to the center of a tootsie pop” Google is taking all the data it has scraped and giving you its best guess of what it thinks are the probable next words.

ChatGPT is just doing the same thing based on all the words it scraped on the internet.

I forgot if you follow your friends, they can also influence what you see. And sure they’ll throw whatever at you that your demographic sees but if you mark it and don’t engage it goes away. Especially if you tell it also the things you like. My insta feed and ads and search are almost 100% things I’m interested in. It didn’t start like that but I was able to filter it down. So it is possible to do.

This is because you engage with that content. If you go through the search area and mark stuff as something you aren’t interested in, you’ll stop seeing it.

I have a few goto pieces of advice for new parents. The first is that every everything is true. Every joke, cliche, standup routine, sitcom episode, happy story, sad story… it’s all true. Yes, you’ll be up in the middle of the night covered in something. Yes, you’ll have your happiest moment watching your child doing something banal. You can’t escape from the stereotypes of being a parent.

And I’ve found things to be easier when I realized it’s just how it is. Baby squirted poop on the wall, yep, that was in the brochure!

My friend told me “Being a parent is hard but you don’t mind it.” I’ve found this to be true as well.

On the dude side specifically- if you’re familiar with post-nut clarity, kenjataiku, etc etc that feeling of utter clarity and lack of sexual arousal comes from your body making a bunch of prolactin (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16095799/) at orgasm.

Prolactin has another very important purpose - it is what Produces milk in women Lactating. So women who are breast feeding are kinda living 24/7 in a post-nut clarity - so if shes down to hook up less or at all, realize that hormones be hormoning and it’s not necessarily anyone’s fault.

Last - the most surprising thing was how much I liked being a father. So much we had another.

And with two, now realize that I went from “I love being a dad” to “I love my kids but two is somehow more than double the work” ;) you’ve be warned.

The Kia EV6 is my favorite car I’ve ever been in. It’s has a surprisingly large amount of capacity, good range, and is just really well designed. No giant touch screens to fiddle with to turn up the ac or volume. Has driver profiles that remember seat positions, radio settings, mirror location. Only downside is it turns like a boat. But a fantastic car.

The hardest thing is going to be to teach people on is “AI” is a language/image model not a knowledge model. It doesn’t know anything, yet. It’s just really really fancy autocomplete. So if you ask it “whats 1+1?” Or “draw a ball” it goes through its data and answers, “The most probable answer is 2 because most of the internet has 2 following that phrase” or “heres something that looks like a ball from the internet where people said ‘hey heres a ball’ in pictures”. It does not know what 1+1 is and if you ask it something that they internet doesn’t have a lot of data to autocomplete to, it’s going to get it wrong.

I generally think of contractor quotes as what it will take for them to do the work, not what it costs. Prices can go up if they are busy (this is what it will cost for me to fit you in) or don’t really like the work (i don’t mind roofs but i had working on toilets…) etc etc If they’re hungry prices could be a lot lower.

Getting multiple quotes is the only way to figure it out.

A number of years ago I started a “year” playlist and anything (anything) that people recommended to me I would add to it as well as the things that I would come across myself or via Spotify’s recs. Then I listen to it like an album, more or less from the beginning and through each song. I think this touches on the “listen better” part of the article but music (and media) is so easy to get that if you don’t like the first few seconds you move on. This really forced me to hear aongs I wouldn’t normally.

Then when the list got too long, basically not able to catch new tracks or having to start midway too often, I start a new list - maybe a 2023 2.0, add my favorites from the previous and start building anew.

Now I also have playlists that are as familiar to me as a favorite album and they really dial me back to specific points in time in my life. Is been a really fun way to reconnect with music.
