I still hangout with a few friends from highschool. One in particular has this ability to draw people in wherever he goes, and not in small quantities. He moved to the same city I live in a couple years ago and he's already gathered over a dozen people from his orbit that have been introduced to the group. It absolutely baffles me on how natural it is for him.
Myself? I'd rather not. A true, deep friendship is a spiritual connection that develops over time and I don't have the bandwidth for that. I also carry some pretty wild thoughts and opinions, and I'm not sure I want to expose anyone to that.

I've been playing Triangle Strategy and I have mixed feelings.

I love the 3D pixel art aesthetic, and it's doing a fantastic job of satisfying my turn based RPG itch.

They've done great job of building a world full of political violence for you to explore, but leans a bit too heavily into cutscenes to assist with telling that story. My only other gripe would be the lack of diversity in the set pieces they provide for people to grind on.

Overall, it's a good game. I'm happy I chose it to play over my holiday break.

    Big Sugar - Heated

I remember hearing a story on the radio about Big Sugar being a bit of an inside joke within the Canadian rock scene for the quantity of speakers they'd drag from stage to stage. Needless to say, their album Heated is best played loud.

Why do I love it? Besides being an absolute sucker for their guitars crunch, I was able to see them live a half dozen times when they were hot. At that time, I was in college and working part time at a family run pizza shop. I was newly fledged into the world, my parents were a distant memory, and I was drunk on freedom. Basically, they were a big part of my personal soundtrack during a time that's special to me.

They're definitely worth a listen if you're into a heavier blues rock. Also, you will notice a lot of reggae inspired rhythms.

I've had a couple pieces of wormy maple mocking me from my workshop for a couple of months, so I introduced them to my tablesaw and router.

I made a frame for my bathroom mirror.
It's mitred corners and a chamfer on the inside edge, so a fairly simple design. I was interested in a light grey/brown finish to make the staining around the worm holes pop, and I think it came out perfectly!

More to your other news, I was tested and fit for my first pair of hearing aids last year, at the ripe age of 44. Though the hearing aids were life changing, they didn't help too much with my tinnitus.
I hope your results turn out well for you!

No real props, but I've been playing around with Dall-E to generate pictures of the settings my PC's are going to be playing in. It's mostly just images of ruins, or cellars. I'll mount them to some thick cardstock, and I'll apply some adhesive shelf liner to the back, so it's not just a sheet of paper I'm handing out.
Also, for one of my groups, I've been building out the dungeons with foam core walls, alongside wood, and clay assets. It's a ton of work, but it scratches my creative itch.

Truthfully, I've always watched the NFL. However, after conspiring with my brothers and father this past fall, I found myself on a plane heading out to see the Grey Cup.

Overall, it was an incredible experience. The biggest difference I found between the two leagues was the much faster pace of the Canadian game. It definitely piqued my interest in becoming a fan. Sadly, it doesn't seem like there's a good streaming option.
