Also you can do pretty much everything online with TurboTax too and it’s a pretty good experience, so on the off-chance it stopped working on wine, you could always use that.

2000 Honda Odyssey. Love the car, but it will probably fail inspection this August and I’ll have to get rid of it because whatever it needs is probably way more than it’s worth. 205k miles and still runs/drives great, I’ve had no major mechanical issues. These pothole-filled PA roads really do a number on the suspension though, I’ve replaced pretty much every suspension component in the last few years.

I’m definitely getting the “keep me logged in” bug on iOS Safari (latest 11.4 beta) and I think also macOS safari.

I’m always watching The West Wing, which is a series about a fictional US president and his administration. I’ve watched the entire series 3 or 4 times now, and I also like to go back and just watch single episodes or a few in a row. It’s, in my opinion, one of the most underrated TV shows (at least today - apparently it was pretty big back when it was airing in 1999-2006). A lot of fans really hate seasons 5-7 which were after the creator (Aaron Sorkin) left the show, but I don’t find them too terrible. The Sorkin seasons are definitely better though.

I saw a thread on /r/programming or maybe in one of the bitchfest threads that mentioned ~ and decided I’d give it a go. Also I like to find small UI bugs so I’m looking to help with testing things like that. I’m a longtime reddit user (almost 5y with an account, lurked before that) - I would probably call myself addicted to reddit - and I’m getting a bit tired of the direction they’re heading in, though I don’t think I’m ready to give it up just yet. What I really like about this place is that there doesn’t seem to be much toxicity toward reddit even though a lot of people came here because they were disgruntled with it. I like that we can peacefully coexist in a mature fashion and I hope that’s something this site can continue in the future. I go by /u/nathreed on reddit as well as here.

I like the ideas posted in this thread of making some threads, eg big science AMAs, public for all to see. Maybe if the load on the servers got too high with all the non-registered users, you could implement some kind of queue system or something where, once a certain amount of non-registered users is reached, it just serves all other incoming non-registered users a “sorry, we’re full” page and gives them a spot in the queue.

Looking at the current state of the Touch ID/Face ID API, Apple probably wouldn’t let you get control or info that fine-grained. Currently all you can do is get info on whether the user successfully authorized or not. This could be with Touch ID, Face ID, or even a passcode if they failed too many attempts at one of the above (I think you can disable the passcode option though). I don’t think the API tells you which they used. So if they expanded it to include public/private keys like is suggested in the article, it’s likely that they wouldn’t differentiate between Face and Touch ID.

I noticed that this worked pretty well with grassroots political campaigns. Having an achievable goal that people are driven to meet by a certain deadline really motivated extra donations.

I think Apple is concerned about App Store content standards. This app allows access to any game on steam, which Apple can’t necessarily review. Content Apple doesn’t control, especially potentially NSFW (I know steam doesn’t allow straight up porn but there is gore and stuff) has been an issue in the past, like with a lot of third party reddit apps and NSFW content on reddit. They could also be concerned about the customer experience with games that might not be optimized for playing in this way.
