PetitPrince Link ParentAre people actually doing that? My own bubble of news (granted positively EV biased) tells me that other parts of the car are more likely to fail before the battery degrades enough to be unusable....You also avoid the tremendous battery replacement costs of EVs.

But one thing that went well for those remake is that they had a lot of cinematic aspirations and it goes well with the current trend of thinking that a video-game is "better" because it looks like cinema.
I'm not entirely convinced it works here. At least there's no problem because of the visual noise all those added details bring (what is interactable and what is not?), but it still I feel it lacks personality.
I'll wait to see the dungeon and gameplay, which is usually where Nintendo shines.

PetitPrince Link ParentI was a child at the time but losing the flag carrier was kind of a big deal at the time (it certainly headlines, and they made a documentary movie afterwards) and I don't think the general public...basically to stop any competitor from spinning up a new Swissair to compete with Swiss Airlines.

And so I think the reason for this arrangement was more a subject of national pride than marketing strategy (the new airline was partly owned by the government).
(the grounding of the airline happened in October 2001, so it also serves as a pre/post 9/11 marker)

Eating cats and dogs is tolerated (private consumption only, not sale; mostly sausage making for dogs; it's also suuuuuuper rare) in Switzerland and the testimonies I read of people doing that were "meh, meat is meat 🤷".
Maybe closer to your inquiry is that it's very common to find horse meat in supermarkets. Rabbit meat is uncommon but not shocking either.
Personally I would not eat animal I'm emotionally attached to, except post apocalyptic situations that's unlikely to arise. Growing up in the countryside as long as the animal was humanely treated (with my baseline being the farmers I know) then I'm ok with anything

He also mirrors my progression in term of hardware : first gamepad, then VR, then HOTAS. But I was more reasonable than him and took the consumer version made for PS4 instead of his flight sim gear.
This also made me realize that "I sexually identify as an attack helicopter" is not just a stinky meme but a real and interesting short story.

PetitPrince (edited )LinkLast November my Network Botvac D7 was downgraded by its owner to a dumb robot vacuum (I can no longer set virtual zone nor activate it remotely for instance). Neato got bought by Vorwerk, and they pulled the plug prematurely despite promises.
Corporate enshittification aside, some hacker got some functionality back by plugging an Esp32 microcontroller on the robot PCB. As a last resort I might try this, but more recently they announced that they had retroengineered the server (no physical hacking required) and plan to release on September the 4th. I don't know why it's so late (especially since the main Dev shared some working screenshots), so I'm a little but suspicious of it. Time will tell.
Anyway, url to the repo is here, but they have a more active communication channel through their Discord.
