One thing that neat with Isaac (and definitely help with my playtime stats) is that it's a good game to play along some podcast or YouTube video.
The item description mod or similar (does platinum god still exists?) is (was?) a must have though.

UI-wise I lament that everything is shoved into a unique bar. I stubbornly refuse to fuse them because in my mind location bar == past and present (where I am, where I was) while search bar is where I want to go.
Two eternities ago there was quite some activity around the idea of CLI-ing the Web browser. Anyone remember Firefox Ubiquity? It was kind of Quicksilver (the OSX launcher) but for the Web. Maybe with the current AI frenzy the idea of having small tools that you can call will come back.

Yup, but sometimes you get the angle juuuust right with their body and/or solar panels to reflect the sun.
If you find a star that doesn't blink, isn't colored (like a plane) and that's visible more than 1 sec (like a shooting star), then it's a satellite.

There's less hand movement going back and forth from pointing to typing. And thus an external trackpoint feels a bit meh to me. It's probably better to have another pointing device (trackball?).

It's basically a C-shaped thingy, so nothing interesting to look at.
Most useful but we don't need it anymore : ergonomic bag holder that we used for trash bag (those strings kinda hurts when the bag is heavy).
Useful and glad we have it: a box that holds the insert for our kitchen mandoline
Most designed : For a larp, I've modded an ikea candle lantern so that it include an programmable RGB ring led (so whatever object is in place of the candle have a magical glow on it). As such I've designed foot extension for the lantern that house the rest of the electronics (an esp32 and a 3x AA holder) with a magnetic door. In action it looks like this

It's annoying yes, but not as much as mission 9. The gimmick is interesting on the first few tries but then it's annoying on repeat play (you're much more railroaded into one solution rather than free form).
And you're right in that PLSL is OP in this game.

Those are good for health (it's sold as brown rice) but bad for conservation (it goes rancid etc). So to keep the rice for longer (brown rice shelf life is 6 month, white rice is 30 years) we mill and polish the bran out of the grain until only the starchy core remains. This inevitably leave some unbound surface starch on the grain. If you add water and cook the rice with it, it will make it gooier (it's the same principle as adding starch to a sauce to make it thicker). In most Asian application, that's not what you want, so you rince that coat away. This also remove random dust and debris from the miller, but hygiene standards are higher compared to mid 20th century.
You don't have to universally rince the rice though; sometime you want that gooey texture, like in risotto. And it also depends the cultivar of rice used.
I did !
As a mod, it's probably one of best, with excellent integration of the in game tools all around.
But it's also one of the few VR game that made me seasick despite me having good VR legs (there's this ninja game where you do slides and somersault ; no problem for me). It's probably the uncontrolled relative movement of the big celestial bodies that triggers it. I remember being equally in awe and being sick being on the hourglass twin and see the sun moving.
