I hadn't thought of it that way and that's a really good point. I can see that being really useful for people who are playing multiple games at a time or take an extended break. If it was made easier or faster to complete in the moment I think I wouldn't mind it as much, but as it is now, I feel like it's pulling me out of the story and sometimes feels really tedious to place each photo when there's a stack of 10. Even more so when I can't quite figure out which category it wants me to put the photo into.

Is it set in the same universe? If you can explain without spoiling anything, what’s the connection to the Alan Wake games?

Working my way through Alan Wake II. I haven’t finished it yet so please no story spoilers! The story has been just as engaging to me as the first one. Especially the way they integrate the story into with the physical gameplay. I’ve never played another game quite like it. Alan Wake II adds in a ‘detective mode thing’ they call the case board which I wasn’t a fan of first as I thought it was a bit tedious but it’s grown on me. I’ve had some graphical glitching on pc, but I’m able to look past it because I love the rest of the game so much.

If you’ve never played Alan Wake I Can’t recommend it highly enough. Start with the first one though, the second game picks up where the first leaves off and you’ll definitely want the context.

I highly recommend taking a look at On Shape. It’s Web based and has a free plan tier.

Being an Adobe suite and Google Sketchup for many years now, I was surprised about how different the actual CAD design process is from those tools, and how a lot less of my knowledge of those programs, sketchup especially, translated into learning CAD than actually did. I found that the precise nature of CAD means it’s less about drawing and hands on ‘free-modeling’ and more about knowing exactly what dimensions you need and finding the right tool to type in a dimension to have CAD draw the shapes for you.

Even so, I was able to pick up the basics of On Shape by following along with this video tutorial series and had a first revision of my part modeled in a day or so. And was able to revise and print very quickly after that. As has been said, the slicing and printing part was actually the easiest for me. For my project I just downloaded Cura’s slicer and printed with the default settings and had a part 30 minutes later. It was incredibly watching my model materialize right before my eyes.

Definitely grab yourself a three button mouse though, I was trying to use a trackpad at first and it made the entire process much more difficult than it needed to be.

Justin (lead singer of The Darkness) just featured this cover on his podcast along with some other really fun covers. If you haven’t listened to this New Orleans version yet, definitely check it out.

ProPresenter would be more akin to Powerpoint or Keynote than a video/image editor. As they've grown over the years they've added some basic editing features to make it more convenient and quick to prepare content for presentation in app. They also added in a built in streaming encoder during COVID which I haven't used, but I get the appeal for users who are already using ProPresenter and needed a quick way to get a stream up and running during the Pandemic.

The main hook of ProPresenter, at least for me, is the way they handle the editing and arrangement of song lyrics. Each Verse/Chorus/Bridge/Etc.. is it's own group that can be incredibly quickly put into arrangements without having to move 3/4 individual slides. The groups also allow you to very quickly make changes to the lyrics on one slide and have it automatically propagate to any other references to that group in the arrangement.

There's also the convenience of having a stored library of lyrics to songs you've done before which also can have multiple preset slide arrangements for the songs as well. It makes throwing together a group of slides for a worship service a 5 minute job rather than a 30-60 minute job of trying to assemble and edit a powerpoint presentation as was the standard in years past.

There's so many more features that make ProPresenter a no brainer purchase for me, and I've been a customer of their's for over a decade now.

As far as alternatives to ProPresenter, I've been so happy with it I've never even looked, but doing a google search now here are a couple more comparable alternatives I've found outside of the standard Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides alternatives. @Ris I've never actually used these apps before so make sure you test them out before you try to implement them in a service.

    1. OpenLP is advertised as free, Open-source, and Cross Platform and is Renewed Visions's recommended free alternative.
    2. FreeShow. This one appears to have a native feature to play Youtube/Vimeo videos, which I'm not sure if Pro Presenter can do. I'll be looking into this one more myself.
    3. WorshipTools looks like a free suite of tools that would be a substitute for Pro Presenter and Planning Center online if you're looking for a service planning and volunteer scheduling tool.

If you haven’t yet, watch the commentary episodes. They talk quite a bit about behind the scenes stuff and things that didn’t make the final edits of the episodes.

Would you mind giving a rundown of your eink dashboard? Hardware/Software/Setup? It’s been something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now, but haven’t made up my mind how to do it.

Just an FYI Chips Challenge is available on Steam! I played the crap out of the BOWEP games. Chips Challenge, Ski Free, Pipe Dream, Rodent’s Revenge, Jezzball… so many good games.

I typically cook pasta with the water with the rolling boil (the water is bubbling strong) and haven't had a problem, but the next time I cook Pasta I'm going to try keeping it a little lower and see what difference that has. Maybe I've been missing out on leveling up my pasta cooking.

Their plug-in Element 3D plug-in is also worth checking out. Makes 3D really easy.

I'm incredibly excited for season two of Severance. I don't think I've anticipated a season 2 of a show as much as I'm looking forward to the next season of Severance.

Other HBO must watches from me are Watchmen, Chernobyl, Band of Brothers, and Newsroom.
