Oof, I just saw the monetization of the game.

It's $70 for an incomplete game (locked missions from the get-go) and a whopping $109,99 to unlock that mission and battlepass. The most expensive option being $129,99 makes this the most ridiculously priced singleplayer game I've seen so far, where it's obvious that Ubisoft is pushing people to pay for their monthly subscription of 17,99 where you get the same benefits of the 130 dollar price tier but now you're stuck with their dogwater subscription service.

Even if this turns out to be a decent game (which it won't), it's going to be a no from me.

    Edit: 140 to 130.

Where did you see that there are locked missions in the base edition ? If I look at their store page: https://store.ubisoft.com/fr/star-wars-outlaws/645ba713a9ce0448bffa4c12.html (I don't know how...

If I look at their store page: https://store.ubisoft.com/fr/star-wars-outlaws/645ba713a9ce0448bffa4c12.html (I don't know how to produce an international link, so maybe it will break for you) there seems to only be esthetics elements added into the "premium" version.

Granted I don't really like it either and in general the whole ubisoft way of selling their "different" editions of their games always rubbed me the wrong way.
But for what I can see on their store page it only seems to be esthetic elements.

It's a better trailer than any of the other Star Wars content Disney is putting out, so they've got that going for them... but it's all cinematic. It looks like the trailer to an animated series....

It ends up saying nothing about the game except that it's bad until proven otherwise, courtesy of Ubisoft themselves.

Perhaps this will be their AAAAA game.

That's the point of a story trailer; they already put out a 10 minute gameplay showcase last year

My experience with Jedi: Fallen Order was so bad on PS5 and I never saw a single review that even hinted at any of the problems i encountered. My expectations will remain low until well after release.

I had it on Xbone and at times it felt like you were swinging a lightsaber underwater.

I gave up on it after patch 5 or 6 as the issues persisted. I did read that they ultumately fixed the issues, but I read that about the other patches so CBF re-downloading it.

Just remember everyone, if it sucks on release day, just wait 6-12 months before giving it another shot. It seems like pressure from publishers, overworking of game developers, and the ability to patch games after release has resulted in games being released before they are ready.

Publishers and studios are ruining the reputations of their games, but they usually do fix them eventually.

I think this game is gonna do well solely on the promise of being an open-world Star Wars game, which we somehow never got under EA's tenure, but these trailers have me wondering if I'm actually all that interested in what the game's offering, or just that idea of open -world Star Wars. It just looks kinda... mediocre, I guess. But I've sorta been feeling that way about Star Wars in general.

I think this looks kind of like Star Wars: Uncharted, and for the longest time I didn't play the Uncharted games because I thought they looked kind of dull, but I was gifted the Nathan Drake collection and breezed through them all in like a week.

If it hits that for me, I'll be happy for sure.
