Lego Island was one of the first video games I played and the first one I completed, and it's always held a very dear place in my heart.
To be able to play this game now, so many years later, on an Android phone just astonishes me.
Immense respect for all of those who worked on this.
Holy shit I did not properly clock "browser build" until watching the video! That's simultaneously absurd, cool, and absurdly cool and I absolutely love that it works.

I'm surprised how usable it is on a phone. Built the jetski without issue, though driving it didn't go well. But still it's amazing that it I can say I played Lego Island on my phone.

Anyone know of someone that's already compiled it for Android? It's a bit outside of my skillet to attempt it right now, but would love to try playing on mobile.

I didn't have a chance to try it, but my impression was it may not work great on a mobile browser. That said I'll have to give it a shot in a little bit!

I visualized a triangle on my screen and that helped me.
Kiwi Browser, it's an open source Chromium Android fork with extensions... Which also apparently just died a week or two ago lol, so I should probably find an alternative.

I'm not sure, comparably - I like Kiwi though; it's just Chromium, so it runs pretty similar to Chrome, but with uBlock, Tampermonkey, and some other stuff and without Chrome's bazillion annoying...

I've seen Ultimatum, Vivaldi, and Edge suggested as alternatives. The Kiwi devs integrated their Extensions code into Edge Canary a while back, so I think their suggestion is switch to Edge...
Just watching this video (and opening the browser port for a few minutes) was nostalgic. I do not know if it was due to bugs in the original game, problem with my install as a child, or user error...

I do not know if it was due to bugs in the original game, problem with my install as a child, or user error but one of my memories as a child was the build tool being frustrating with some pieces seeming to have small hitboxes.

I can still remember that "Brick by Brick" song.
Did they ever figure out how to get into that pirate door?

A comment above @moocow has a browser build (it runs in your web browser!)

It runs great for me on Android Firefox, but on touch I just can't, uh, turn. Slightly important. (Also didn't run in Kiwi, but whatever.)

What's Kiwi?

Oh darn, do you know how it compares to Vanadium? That's the graphene OS browser.
