These look absolutely fantastic. The only problem is that New Vegas loads too quickly after following the Viva New Vegas guide so you won't get to enjoy these.

However I did notice that there's a second guide which builds upon the first one although I think this isn't from the same team. I have no experience with this so if you try it then please share your experience.
While Tale of Two Wastelands can be buggy, it's my preferred way to play either of the games now. The ability to hop back and forth (once you are able to get to the train) makes it perfect for me.

So I did dive into this over the weekend. I have F:NV Ultimate Edition from Steam (installed outside of the Program Files directory), and tried to follow the instructions exactly—with one substantial catch: I can't use Mod Organizer 2 because I'm running Windows 11 for ARM in a Parallels VM on a MacBook Pro. It's me, hi. I'm the problem.
Anyway, Vortex runs great on this system and I've had a lot of luck using it before to mod F:NV so I dove into the VNV instructions and adapted them as best I could for that. I'm actually really pleased with the results so far! I haven't gotten far into the game but it's playable and looks pretty nice.
There's only one major issue that I've encountered so far: problems with distant terrain geometry. The VNV LOD Guide is interesting and has a ton of good info. I followed those steps and used FNVLODGen to generate over 25k terrain LOD files, following the instructions in there. I did the object and tree LODs also, and loaded them as two new mods like the instructions say. It didn't seem to make any difference. Vortex indicated that it was installing and deploying all of the LODs but I don't know how to verify that; either the LODs themselves are bad or they're not getting loaded properly. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot from here. By any chance do you have any ideas about this?
Edit: 40 minutes later and I figured it out. I had to regenerate my Objects LODs (not terrain) with the FNVLODGen Resources mod enabled. I had disabled it earlier because it includes a TTWLods.esp file that depends on Tale of Two Wastelands (which I'm not using). Vortex doesn't have a way to "hide" that file like MO2 does. I ended up just deleting the file after enabling the rest of the mod, and that fixed my LOD generation. Looks incredible now! And yes, it plays great in my ARM VM too, haha.
RELATED: The Deimos mod is already installed on Tildes.
Hell yeah, it's like we got early access.
For anyone (like me) who wants a poster:

Also, TIL there is an artist who goes by @Deimos too. :P
Bunch of neat artwork that's worth sharing

What’s the Viva New Vegas guide?
It's a guide and mod-list for Fallout: New Vegas with very high technical standards. It's widely considered to be the way to setup New Vegas nowadays.
Well shit, I know what I'm doing this weekend...
Same!
Consider take of two wastelands as well! I'm doing it now, 3 and NV glued together with a bunch of extra content
How does this compare to the mod that combines FO3 and NV?
