Does anyone have experience with any of the games and, if so, would you recommend them? Is there anything in here that you're particularly excited to play?
This bundle is worth it for Core Keeper alone, incredible game that I can only recommend.
It usually goes on sale for the same price as Humble Choice, so you effectively get all the other games for free.
From what I've seen, StarVaders seems very interesting, but I suppose that game mostly appeals to people of my particular vintage and less so the younger generation. Might pick up this bundle to try it out.
I can very happily and heartily recommend Squirrel with a Gun. You can dress up in a ballerina in a tutu dancing on tiptoes, or dress up as a ninja and do the Naruto run. There's an epic tank battle with cinematic cut scenes of you flying away in a glorious explosion. You can shoot yourself into the air by shooting at the ground as part of the platforming mechanics.
It is one of the most "pure" gaming experiences out there because this is the exact kind of craziness you can only find in video games.
When I saw that in the bundle, my literal first thought was "Apple is going to have something to say about this." XD
If I didnt already own it, that and Date Everything probably would've made me get it this month. I wanted it since the first trailer. I wouldn't say it's a perfect game, but it's still fun! My biggest complaint was that it wasn't longer, it's fun to wreak havoc as a squirrel :D
Every month, Humble has been giving out a free month of IGN Plus with Choice. I've ignored this up until recently, but while I was playing Wind Waker for CGA this month, I found that being able to save my checklists on their guide was actually pretty useful. So, I used my code from January for a free month.
Well, we got another free month again this time, so I figured I'd continue my subscription in case I played another game where I used a guide, but it turns out you cannot apply the free month to a current subscription. It's good for new or returning subscribers only.
So, in order to use my free month, I would have to wait for my current month to end, then re-start it afterwards as a "returning" subscriber. In theory I could keep doing this month after month, but what a pain! It's like they don't actually want people using IGN Plus.
Anyway, this honestly looks like a very strong month. And, as is always the case now, us Linux folks are eating good (thanks Chef Proton!). Big Helmet Heroes is the only one that looks like it might have some trouble, but I'd wager its Silver is entirely because it lacks reports. There are only 4 total for the game, and only 1 of those is from the past 6 months.
Bus Simulator has quite the gap between its recent and all-time scores, which makes me think that the game has seen some updates.
I never use the free month of IGN because it's so annoying to use. They really need to fix that.
I've 100%ed Steamworld Build, it's a very fun city builder with a story attached. The game is pretty easy in my opinion, even on the hardest difficulty, but it was still enjoyable to play through and complete all the maps. Runs just fine on Linux, I played it exclusively on my Steam Deck with no issues.
