I can very happily and heartily recommend Squirrel with a Gun. You can dress up in a ballerina in a tutu dancing on tiptoes, or dress up as a ninja and do the Naruto run. There's an epic tank battle with cinematic cut scenes of you flying away in a glorious explosion. You can shoot yourself into the air by shooting at the ground as part of the platforming mechanics.

It is one of the most "pure" gaming experiences out there because this is the exact kind of craziness you can only find in video games.

When I saw that in the bundle, my literal first thought was "Apple is going to have something to say about this." XD

Every month, Humble has been giving out a free month of IGN Plus with Choice. I've ignored this up until recently, but while I was playing Wind Waker for CGA this month, I found that being able to save my checklists on their guide was actually pretty useful. So, I used my code from January for a free month.

Well, we got another free month again this time, so I figured I'd continue my subscription in case I played another game where I used a guide, but it turns out you cannot apply the free month to a current subscription. It's good for new or returning subscribers only.

So, in order to use my free month, I would have to wait for my current month to end, then re-start it afterwards as a "returning" subscriber. In theory I could keep doing this month after month, but what a pain! It's like they don't actually want people using IGN Plus.

Anyway, this honestly looks like a very strong month. And, as is always the case now, us Linux folks are eating good (thanks Chef Proton!). Big Helmet Heroes is the only one that looks like it might have some trouble, but I'd wager its Silver is entirely because it lacks reports. There are only 4 total for the game, and only 1 of those is from the past 6 months.

Bus Simulator has quite the gap between its recent and all-time scores, which makes me think that the game has seen some updates.

I never use the free month of IGN because it's so annoying to use. They really need to fix that.

From what I've seen, StarVaders seems very interesting, but I suppose that game mostly appeals to people of my particular vintage and less so the younger generation. Might pick up this bundle to try it out.

I actually ended up grabbing this month's bundle for Star Vaders, Big Helmet Heroes and Steam World Build. (I also gifted Core Keeper to a friend)

Which leaves me with the following games that I have no need for:

      • Resident Evil Village (Appears to be region locked to Europe @fefellama has the code)
      • Date Everything
      • Squirrel With A Gun
      • Bus Simulator 21
      • One month of IGN+

If you'd like any of these games, leave a reply here with your chosen game and I'll DM you the redeem link. Please only choose 1 game :)

I've been following Squirrel with a Gun since their first trailer, would love a key since I was eyeing the bundle for mainly that!

Hey if no one else takes you up on it I wouldn't mind checking out RE Village. Haven't played a Resident Evil game since 4 (and a tiny bit of 5 at a friend's house way back). I was thinking about checking out some of the newer ones but wasn't sure where to start (even asked in one of the weekly 'what games have you been playing' threads here). But if someone else wants it please feel free to give it to them instead!

Resident Evil: Village seems to have a ridiculous number of packages for some reason, most games do not. I'm sorry :(

Would you like to try another game instead?

If no one else takes Bus Simulator 21 I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. I've played PC building simulator and loved that, but I've never tried those bus/train/truck simulators before. I've heard they can be relaxing, just driving around aimlessly.

Hey, sorry for your bad luck. I also had a similar experience with region lock screwing me over.

I purchased a Humble Choice bundle a couple years back specifically for an advertised 20% discount on Metaphor: ReFantazio, but I didn't check the expiration dates for any of the items since I had planned to redeem the keys/coupon later that day. So you can imagine how annoyed I was when I tried to use the Metaphor: ReFantazio coupon a few hours later -- you know, the thing I had specifically bought the bundle for -- and realized that the coupon had just expired. Like, it wasn't even the end of the month yet! How could you have a Humble Choice item that expires before the bundle does?

But I still wanted this game, and at this point I was already 12 euros in the hole, so I made my way to Fanatical for some sort of discount. I made the purchase. I went to Steam. I clicked redeem. And Steam told me: Thanks, but no thanks. The item was region locked to Germany.

I was no longer annoyed but outright pissed. I had been living in Germany for a couple years and had bought quite a few things on Fanatical, but this is the first time I had encountered a product that was region locked. It had never even occurred to me to check. (Lesson learned!)

Luckily, there was a fix: I just needed to change my region from the US to Germany. Unfortunately that means I have to deal with slightly higher prices forever more and am unable to access the occasional region-blocked game. But at least I can use my German bank account.

Anyway, this was really just a long way of saying: I feel you. But also, if you still have that Resident Evil Village key, I will totally take it.

Yeah region locks feel so... artificial nowadays. I get that different currencies mean games can cost cheaper or more expensive depending on where you are in the world, but it just feels so...

Yeah region locks feel so... artificial nowadays. I get that different currencies mean games can cost cheaper or more expensive depending on where you are in the world, but it just feels so ridiculous to tell the customer 'hey sorry this set of numbers and letters that we generated only works for people in that other country, you'll need to purchase this other set of numbers and letters to be able to play in your own country'. I'm sure there are economic factors that I'm missing, but from a user perspective it just feels dumb.

                Anyways, enjoy the game!

In general, I'm okay with different prices in different regions from an equity standpoint, but it doesn't really make sense in this case. If anything, a key from Europe might cost more than a key from the US, as the prices tend to be exactly the same numerical value except with the $-symbol replaced with a €-symbol.

I've 100%ed Steamworld Build, it's a very fun city builder with a story attached. The game is pretty easy in my opinion, even on the hardest difficulty, but it was still enjoyable to play through and complete all the maps. Runs just fine on Linux, I played it exclusively on my Steam Deck with no issues.

Steamworld games feel almost perfectly made for the Deck. Haven't played Build yet but I'm glad to hear it runs well too.

Nothing that screams instant yes to me personally, (had been planning to buy at some point etc) but there's also enough that I'm curious enough to try but wouldn't go out of my way to buy otherwise.
