Green cards cannot be unilaterally 'revoked' like this: holders are afforded many of the same rights as US citizens including the right to due process, which has been entirely disregarded here. This is a serious, serious line that has been crossed. If they can illegally do this to a green card holder, with complete abandon and for constitutionally protected activity, then they can — and will — end up doing this to citizens. Now is a time to be vocal through whatever channels you can.

That's a rather stunning display of incompetence alongside the maliciousness. They already suggested deporting citizens. They already decided to do concentration camps. I've been yelling about it for a while, but my House representative won't hold town halls, show up at the local office or say anything anti-Trump, even supporting the birthright citizenship EO.

I'm... just so sorry, the political system is so dysfunctional and the Mango Mafia are abusing it horrifically. Despite not being American, I know quite a few and I fear for their lives - as well as yours. :\

As disturbing as it may sound I hope the government does shut down due to lack of budget this Friday, because the earlier social unrest starts, the less likely it is they'll remain in power. At the same time I fear for the consequences.

If we get to the point where my personal safety is threatened we've gone, probably, too far to come back from.

The "silver lining" is that if there are a lot of protesting citizens, the sheer numbers will clog the system, they will likely only try to jail the highest profile ones. Then a bigger bunch might get a sort of warning or "appear at the court" type thing - that's when I would run. The vast majority will be ignored.

I don't know if he's leaving MN for that. But also in Illinois we have two giant districts that are all red all the time, with two shitty representatives - you have Hitler-quoting Miller and yes-man LaHood. I live in one of them because life is stupid. Neither is gonna have a blue candidate win any time soon, because mostly they don't even try.

Walz is great but he's not in the House which means it's not nearly so useful.

But trolling Mary Miller is fun

As a Jew, I'm so fucking tired of anti-Semitism being used as the justification to do anything you want lately.

The term doesn't mean "doing something that some Jews don't like". If I want a thousand dollars and you don't give it to me, you're not being antisemitic.

Similarly, calling for an end to a war killing a ton of innocent people isn't anti semetic. Neither is existing as a country that doesn't want to be part of Russia.

Antisemitism isn't just some magic word you get to say and it lets you do whatever you want. I really wish the term wasn't used as widely as it is, and is reserved only for situations where there's a hatred of Jews in general for being Jewish, not for doing bad things. People who do bad things should expect to be hated. There's nothing wrong with that hatred.

Also, from where I'm standing, the majority of actual antisemites, that is, people that think Jews are shifty eyed tricksters who secretly control the world and want to destroy the United States from within voted for the guy supposedly doing all of this standing up against antisemitism.

Marjorie Taylor Greene was the "wildfires are because of Jewish space lasers" person right? How are actual Jewish people okay with this person being in the sphere of influence?!

I think there's a contingent of conservative American Jews for whom the ends justify the means. The ends are the eradication of Arabs in Israel, and the means are allying themselves with the same people who would gladly put them into camps as soon as all the other people they hate slightly more are dealt with first. They've convinced themselves that they've been accepted into the conservative WASP club, but they haven't. They're just convenient allies for the time being.

It’s so often the case that propaganda and doublespeak disproportionately harms the people being “protected” and it fucking sucks. One of the loudest and most passionate voices I know against Israel’s actions in Palestine is a Jewish guy. He said to me once that Netanyahu’s habit of equating disagreement with his government with antisemitism isn’t just about shutting down external criticism, it also implies dissenters in the community are less worthy of their Jewish identity - that one really stuck with me.

Family and attorney do not know where he is. He was not at the facility where they'd initially said he was. Additionally, this is aligned with Project Ester by the Heritage Foundation

Personally I would think that a “Project Esther” would be about protecting minorities living in the land of a foreign imperial power from the whims of idiotic despots, but then again what do I know.

Yeah we have to wait til Wednesday. If they declare him a terrorist.... I'm not sure how much evidence they will have to provide there.

Obviously, all of this is important, but I think the end is the most important stuff to know about this:

The university’s allegations against Khalil focused on his involvement in the Columbia University Apartheid Divest group. He faced sanctions for potentially helping to organize an “unauthorized marching event” in which participants glorified Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack and playing a “substantial role” in the circulation of social media posts criticizing Zionism, among other acts of alleged discrimination.

“I have around 13 allegations against me, most of them are social media posts that I had nothing to do with,” Khalil told the AP last week.

“They just want to show Congress and right-wing politicians that they’re doing something, regardless of the stakes for students,” he added. “It’s mainly an office to chill pro-Palestine speech.”

Incredible how she can be such a piece of shit while standing up for what's right.

“There’s almost no one I don’t want to deport, but unless they’ve committed a crime, isn’t this a violation of the First Amendment?” Coulter said on the social platform X in response to a report from the New York Post.

      Sure don’t like that phrasing.

“The very support for Hamas is grounds for deportation. Free speech is not supporting terror. This is the first of many Mahmoud’s we expect will be deported,” they added.

      Sure don’t like that phrasing.
