The no name branding has been around for a very long time and only in the past few years has it been something people want to talk about. It took lots of years of nothing before it became something.

I have the badly-named Nothing Ear (1) earbuds. They feel really solid, look great, the case is nice haha, they are small and comfortable to wear for hours, and work reasonably well. The Nothing-specific app shows the charge per earbud and for the case, which is handy given Android's really basic bluetooth support.
They're not without glitches though. Random 2-second disconnects, or sometimes one ear will just be like "nope, not today" and there's no solution other than putting it in the case and waiting for it to sort itself out. And occasionally they'll feel like they're about to fall out - most of the time they sort of stick in my ear perfectly, but randomly they'll feel super slippy and won't stay in. I need to suck in through my ears or something.
Am I the target market? No idea, maybe. I read loads of reviews of earbuds and these had a pretty good price-quality rating, and were the ones that IMO looked the coolest and smallest of non-Apple, Android-focused earbuds.
Edit: my god, that sounds like astroturfing, sorry, I'm not a bot I swear. Nothing sucks! There you go, balance.

Hahaha, those problems sound like the same issues I have with some cheap $35 wireless earbuds I picked up for work! I'm not really a true wireless earbud fan though. The only thing that works with my ears are the ones with the big inner ear flange, everything else slides out, and I've tried both foam and silicone - neither wants to hold in my ear and both end up really uncomfortable after an hour or so.

Yeah I also bought some fully wireless over the ear mpow ones for use while exercising. They're bigger and the battery lasts longer, but the case is flakey and one randomly doesn't charge, and they hurt my ears after a couple of hours. Plus in android the percentage charged info is not correct or only shows the most charged one. My experience with wireless ear buds hasn't been amazing shall we say. They all seem to have problems.
I heard about it, saw a little press. Checked it out. Maybe I'm missing something, but I concluded just another Android phone with some LEDs embedded on the back. That's about it.

First I've heard of this brand, and just trying to form coherent sentences about them - I can't even - how did this brand get through any kind of actual real proper marketing and branding discussion without getting shredded? I want to know what agency or consultant did this to them and ensure that story gets a ton of attention - because seriously? Who's responsible for this?
As for the project - I have no opinion, because I can't get past the brand name - it just slips right by. Nothing to remember. ;-)

That’s pretty much it, I’m way too deep in the Apple ecosystem both for work and personal. That said. Im starting to think I’d like to jump ship, just not to Google. Leaving me pretty out of options!

I really have no complaints about the iPhone other than the fairly conventional styling. It’s Apple’s approach to right to repair and similar that I have beef with and voting with your wallet is about the only agency we have in these situations. However I’m more focused on privacy which I think Apple is stronger than Android on (as far as I can tell).

Is the LED back a gimmick? Yes. It is basically useless? Yes. But it's still a solid phone from a manufacturer who wants to do something a little different, and I'm all for supporting that.

I dunno, maybe I'm just not the target audience.
I would agree, but one of the most popular generic brands for groceries and other household items here in Canada is "no name". The environment for tech products may be very different from that of groceries, but if they fail, I don't think it'll be because of the name.

Missed opportunity. They should have called it Less than Nothing.

Why is Android a deal-breaker for you? For one thing, a phone like this could never exist in the Apple ecosystem (if that's why).

I think you and SleepyGary with XDA might have sold me on trying one.
It's extraordinary that I read this entire article and I still don't have any clue what "Nothing" make or sell.
