From Apple putting random screw heads (fuck you tri wing screws and hex bolts in tiny phones) to requiring a subscription for several thousand dollars to update the firmware on a Mercedes computer. Combine that with the increased computerization of unnecessary things like window switches that must be synced with the computer to key fobs that have to get a specific single use authorization code from the dealer. From that all the way to specific bolts that require a specific tool that only the dealer sells, to cell phones who say you don't own it so you can't change the software...
Things are really not looking good for anyone trying to own things.

I think this is true, sadly the real story comes from the differences between an officer doing this and literally anyone else. We have yet to see how this whole thing plays out, but if historical context is any indicator she will not spend time in prison. Which is really incredible for someone who killed a person.

From the coverage I've seen on it, she came home after a 15 hour shift and went to unlock the door. She realized it was unlocked and got suspicious that someone was waiting for her. Drew her gun and as she pushed open the door and saw a figure across a dark room. It's the same # apartment on the floor above, everything is exactly the same layout. The room was dark and she was occupied with the person. She's not looking at pictures and depending the entrance area who knows how much furniture or anything you can see from the well lit hallway looking into a dark room.
Obviously in hindsight the door unlocked should make you look around if you're in the right place, but to a cop you may suspect something more sinister. They opened the door and saw what they thought to be someone standing in their home with the lights off.
Personally, I feel like I would say something and if you felt in danger try to retreat to a strategic position while calling for backup, but after 15 hours on the job and who knows what it looked like the person was doing. She reacted. Obviously the wrong reaction with hindsight but it's much more understandable than someone just barging into the wrong house and shooting someone.

Effectively meaning an hour commute is no longer a guaranteed 10 hour day.
We actually have some companies starting this. In San Antonio they had Rackspace (hosting company) start a bus from Austin to SA where they have wifi on the bus and it lets you live in Austin while working an hour away without cutting into your day an extra 2 hours.
This is obviously a very specific example that takes a really progressive company to try out.

Health insurance and surviving shouldn't be so easily shattered by a business happening to give you the boot. If we could provide a market economy where the workers don't die that would allow them to have more bargaining power. But then the question comes to how much responsibility to we expect the people to plan for. Is the crushing statistics on Americans not having more than $500 in saving because they literally can't earn more than the bare minimum to survive? or is it a fiscal responsibility issue.

On the other the balance of these systems was not designed for a sudden influx of immigrants on the needy side of the scale. Not only that but throw in the inherent racism of these immigrants not looking like you, the cultural clashes of ethnic groups with a large imbalance of wealth, and the humanitarian aspect of sheer compassion and you get a very muddy water to wade through.
I do think it's interesting how Europeans online will constantly bash the racism of America and the first sign of a non-homogeneous population shift and the exact same things come out over there. I wish them and the refugees luck in sorting it out though.

It's hard not to take more into account than just their music. If you're judging them as artists that's the best way, but when you consider who they were as humans, it's more than just their art.

The stuff from clone wars (no spoilers in this one) I was talking about doesn't occur until literally the last episodes of the last season, but you see some parts of it in the 3rd or 4th. So keep trucking and I literally have never met someone who dislikes where it hits in the later seasons. It's that good.

But during a very weird episode arc, they find the planet Mortis which is identified as some nexus point for the force. They hide out in a cave overnight and Obi-wan dreams/sees Qui-Gon in the cave who tells Obi that there is a way to survive after death, basically describing the force ghost. When Obi gets back to the temple he tells Yoda who begins meditating on the issue and then it's Yoda who makes the further contact from there. They have a whole arc where Yoda follows clues left by what we are supposed to assume is Qui-Gon reaching through from the other side to lead Yoda to the secret. Eventually Yoda defeats his inner evil self and visits Morriban/Korriban and speaks with Darth Bane in a sith temple there.
After that the show essentially insinuates that Yoda figured it out and we know that Yoda teaches Obi the technique. Eventually Obi is the first one to test that out and confirm that it works when he's killed by Vader.

I don't have anything against black people or jews but it's just like an extra layer of weird that particular belief. Almost like if you found out an actor is a scientologist. You're just like hmm... I'm going to have a hard time un-seeing that. But his music is good!
Rugby doesn't seem to have the same head injury issues, but they have their own share of severe injuries where apparently spinal injuries are way higher than NFL.
