One time purchase of $10 isn't unreasonable either.

Unlocking new buildings, cornerstones, races, etc. Really gave me that "one more map" feeling I love.
However now it is falling into a pattern where I know which buildings are efficient and try to roll them and if they don't come up I'll use the lower star alternative. The production chains don't change that much as you need the same crafted food, services, and luxury items. Is the higher end gameplay just about getting that loop tighter? I was hoping more of a Slay The Spire type of situation where your deck can change your entire playstyle. Right now it's just harder Settlers (did you know a new Settlers game came out this year? Neither did I until just now). I'll keep trucking for a while and they do release updates very frequently so maybe it's just an early access issue.

If The Met wasn't on your list then definitely go for it. It's hours of exploring art and exhibits.
If art is too boring for kids then go for Museum of Natural History, lots to look at! It's just across the park from the met.
Visit Stone Street downtown, not too far from the Exchange/Wall Street area. Lots to eat and it's really nice and crowded at night. Great for some drinks and ambiance.
If you want Central Park Lite Edition then Prospect Park is the place to go. Less crowded and still got some interesting landmarks. There used to be a tiny farmers market on the north corner, not sure if it's still around though (get the apple cider). Not far from cozy/quirky restaurants at Park Slope.
I miss NY sometimes đź«

If you're into audiobooks though, I'd recommend the audible version. You'll get caught up quicker and the voice acting is top notch, can't read the web novel without hearing the voices now.

Just nothing like shield hero, that kind of stuff bores and annoys me. I just want to kind of zone out and not think about current events and feel good, you know?

I've mostly been tinkering around with Path of Exile ever since that PoE 2 gameplay video dropped. I'm constantly surprised just how well it works with the controller. Too bad it needs to reconnect each time I wake the SD, but the load times have been minimal. I'm extremely casual with PoE, so I'm just following some random leave starter builds. Not really a fan of Crucible in general (it's just boring and extra random), compared to the one with delving (and I hear heists are also ok). I'll check in again when the next expansion releases.

The people who fall for kayfabe are the "marks" and the ones who know and just love the show are the "smarks" or just "smarts". All works just as well in politics, as you've said they even got "faces" and "heels" (good and bad guys).
Trump never breaks character, and when he enters the ring they cheer for him and boo whoever enters against him. Not because they understand the stakes, but because they want a show and their guy to "win".

Granted, some of them are the kooky variety with healing crystals and what not. There are also book clubs, weekend cycling rides, table top game meets at the shop, etc. Not gonna lie, some of them will not work out (cycle snobs!), just don't get discouraged.

Wanted to shout out Tiny Rogues*. Bullet hell mechanics, unlockable classes, random weapons, damage types, traits, starting gear, etc. all that good stuff you expect. Been playing it on my steam deck and just unlocked most things in under 10 hours, waiting for the next big update coming soon. Worth the $6, but I got it on sale for around $4 so no complaints about value.

I'm wondering if some people just moved to cheaper COL areas farther away where commuting isn't feasible. Personally I moved states and a return to office mandate would basically be a termination. Not saying it's common, but I've seen my own team scatter to the four winds (including management).
