If you're wanting something that is moreso suited for cards rather than cash, but can still hold some, I'd like to recommend my personal daily driver since 2016: The Vaultskin Chelsea Minimalist Wallet I've been happily rocking it for years because of how small it is, yet still able to hold all the cards, backup cards, id's, insurance, and cash (in a pinch) that I need.

I love this strategy for most tools, and it's one that Mythbuster's Adam Savage has stated before. When starting out on a project that you need tools for, get the cheapest ones you can. Those you use more often will eventually break, in which you go ahead and splurge on replacements so you know you're getting your money's worth

Beware in relying on Amazon's quick return policy on tablets, as they're one of the more common items that are swapped with a dummy I would imagine. I returned a tablet completely unopened, still wrapped in it's original cling wrap on 9/18, and it still says return started. I have confidence that it'll still process, as they need to personally inspect the item to make sure it is the same item I bought, just keep in mind it might not be a standard return + next day refund as it normally is with Amazon products

For general rankings, preseason draft strategies, and weekly performances, I mainly defer to the opinions of Underdog Fantasy on YouTube. I feel they provide the best balance of looking at stats and film, providing a well balanced approach to fantasy performance and analysis. Their Tuesday show, Stats vs Film is a weekly watch for me. Fair warning though, one of the hosts graduated from USC, and so as a result they might put more emphasis or give more leniency towards players with the same Alma mater. (They were bashing on Bo Nix but remained reserved for Caleb Williams when comparing Week 1 performances between the two for example) Besides that small quirk that rarely presents itself, I go by what they say pretty often

For injuries, I follow a couple of doctors who provide injury reports and outlooks for NFL players almost exclusively. Someone like @medspired. Providing more insight into the injury, possible return date, and any impact it may have on their eventual return

How long do you think it'll be before you take down the wallpaper? If you know it will come down sooner rather than later (around a year), I think it would be better to pick something that goes with the furniture and wall color you already have. This'll also possibly prevent another future Walmart return

I think one of the biggest examples of this anecdotally is Apex Legends. Personally, I found their matchmaking and anti-cheat to be too good, and every match felt the exact same. Pair that up with the unique quality of the game such as the power of third-partying and the same maps being rotated throughout. In time, everything felt identical game to game, so I eventually stopped playing

From my understanding, it's a fairly large development front at the moment. One of the more promising breakthroughs I've seen involves using an oil-based ferrofluid to cling to the microplastics seen in water supplies, and removing them using a magnet. Still a lot of research that needs to be completed on this particular method, but it's stood out to me as the simplest and cheapest method at the moment

I remember reading headlines some years ago in attempting to study the effects of microplastics on humans, but the research never started because they couldn't find a single person to use as a control; everyone had some form of exposure to it in their system. If it can enter the body, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to enter the reproductive system

Per @creesch 's comment last week, I began developing an app for myself and some friends to use for organizing our Bonnaroo experience (an upcoming music festival). So far I've been able to distinguish and/or surpass some main hurdles:

    1. Configuring the lineup screen for listing artists - finished
    2. Configuring the daily schedule - in progress. Right now it's just a matter of configuring a custom layout that looks and feels like a daily view of the Google calendar app, but dividing it between the 5 stages for better organization
    3. Include an artist bio page without adding it to the main navigation bar at the bottom. I understand this to be possible using navigation stacking, but the implementation of it has me scratching my head currently.

Overall I've made a lot more progress in a week than I thought possible, and I hope the main hurdles can be surpassed here soon, as the festival is in a month and some change.

The reason for landing on a PWA was due to a friend's suggestion who has a bit more coding experience than I. I've only really done basic python scripts and automations, so I wouldn't say I'm too familiar with web development besides the basics. My understanding is that we would be able to make the app and everything ahead of time, download everything to our phones (after testing and formatting for different phones/browsers of course), and then we would be good to go.

However, after looking at React Native, this seems to be a more natural and easier solution for what I'm trying to accomplish. The main advantage (from what I'm understanding) is that it'll operate as a dedicated app instead of having the main interface be through a web browser. I like the idea of having developed modules or packages to make implementing certain features easier.

I'm not sure about the OpenStreetMap component for what it currently requires. Given that the map feature list is pretty limited, it might be a bit overkill. Also, Bonnaroo is held on an operational farm, so the structures for the event are only up for a certain amount of days. It might be difficult to distinguish landmarks or have a visual reference if there are no roads or built landmarks to go off of in the underlying imagery.

I've actually been wanting to develop SQL skills, so I'll definitely look into that as a database solution for hosting the backend data.

    Thanks for the suggestions!!

Currently scrambling to work on an app to help me and my friends who will be going to Bonnaroo in June (it's a large multi-genre music festival in Tennessee for those unfamiliar). There is already an official app for the event, but some red-flag reviews regarding security concerns have prevented me from wanting to use it as a solution.

So far I've landed on a Progressive Web App (PWA) as a possible solution for the features I'm looking to implement:

    • The entire app must be fully functional without Internet connection, as there is little to no cellular service available once on the festival grounds
    • Provide maps (images) of the camp grounds and main area with the ability to add custom markers for things like meetup spots, camp area, etc.
    • List of all the acts available, with the ability to "favorite" acts for adding to a personal lineup. Each act will have a small bio associated with them including genre(s), which stage they are at and what day they are performing at
    • Lineup section where you can view an entire day's schedule based on acts that you favorited in the prior section. In addition, I'm looking to add the ability for users to color acts different shades to highlight those that are "must sees", and notification customization for each act
    • Miscellaneous lists for things like a list of food vendors, water stations, non-music attractions, etc.

I've never done any sort of app development before, so I'd love to hear suggestions as for the best way to go about this.

Don't know if this was mentioned in the article from the paywall, but some of the rising costs of natural disaster insurance is also due to self inflicted damage. In the case of hurricanes or coastal inland flooding especially, houses on the coast become flooded, estimated for financial settlement and then rebuilt on the same exact plot of land it was just on, even though they know it's estimated to be underwater in the next 3-5 years.
