Somewhat to be expected. The best part about Star Wars during the peak of the hype (both eras) was that there wasn't a glut of stuff coming out every year. Oh sure, there were video games, comics, and maybe a TV special or three involving wookies and ewoks we don't talk about in this household, but there weren't movies in every year from 1977-1983 or 1999-2005. Hell, during the second wave, the only Star Wars movie we got outside the main prequel trilogy was 2008's The Clone Wars where the best part about the movie itself was that it gave us a pretty cool TV series.

Ever since this third wave of Star Wars mania started, not a year has gone by without something Star Wars related, so naturally there's going to be a burnout. Solo not making gangbusters could have been called by anyone at this point. If Star Wars is going to be given constant new material, it shouldn't be in the form of movies. Do what Game of Thrones is doing— make a big-budget ongoing TV series. We didn't need a whole sequel trilogy; using The Force Awakens as a launchpad would have been perfectly fine.

For the most part, it's died off thanks to moderation stepping up, but most of the people who were screaming about this were the usual suspects: incels, redpillers, The_Donald posters, and 4channers who already hate it when women do so much as "infest their movies" at all, let alone actually do anything. They justified it by saying that women didn't fight in World War II, which is false even if it wasn't common. Of course, a lot of the time they stopped hiding behind buzzwords and flat out used the usual nonsense like 'women are weaker, therefore they can't fight and shouldn't be in video games' or 'this is disrespecting white male heritage'.

Media Synthesis. Shameless plugging my subreddit, but how can it really be considered shameless when this is going to have such a major impact on things over the next twenty years and the most people know about it is that there was once this trend called 'deepfakes' that apparently got banned. That, and Photoshop is a thing. But this goes so far beyond Photoshop and deepfakes.

We already see Nicholas Cage spammed into every movie ever made, and you can edit certain parts of movies in action. Not to mention that you can put words into a world leader's mouth and use their faces while you're at it. The future's gonna be wild, but the wildest part is that when I say "future", I mean the 2020s. Anyone who thinks this technology is twenty or thirty years off or that it'll only be available to the government and wealthy with its initial release, just click away now to spare your brain because I'm about to blow it apart.

Most of these examples were accomplished using algorithms available for free right now on GitHub, which is open source. They'll remain free and open source indefinitely. So have your fun. Be Big Brother, or do what I did when I was a kid and try to imagine editing in various effects and new content into shows and games you like, because these are both going to happen. All this technology will be more refined as time goes on, but like I said, think in terms of "months and years", not "decades and centuries."

Already, we're seeing the effects. In Iraq, deepfakes technology was used to create fake sex tapes of female candidates in their recent election season. I don't think it led to anything substantial, but it was a proof of concept.

Hello, I'm Yuli Ban. Aspiring novelist, Born Again Singularitarian, robosexual, and freelance black best friend™. You will undoubtedly see me plugging niche futurist subreddits and doing everything I can to make "heavy rock" music popular until it gets old and stale.
I run about 70 subreddits, most with less than 100 subs. Attempts to hijack more popular subreddits have, so far, failed.

I've identified a base desire for making an impact, regardless of if my name is attached to something, so I will suck every dick on earth so long as at least one of my ideas becomes famous. Preferably more than one.
If my desired world came to pass, there'd be about ten Black Sabbath/Witchfinder General ripoffs playing on rock radio/playlists at any one time, electronic music would have gotten its own Sgt. Pepper, slice of life science fiction would be topping sales charts, most Western governments would have pinko heads of states, the word "gynoid" would be used to describe fembots, I'd be a millionaire with a gynoid wife, and there would be a focus on fully-automated worker cooperatives in the mainstream. So far, none of that will ever happen in my lifetime so I don't know what I'm even doing here.

I'm also undergoing a quarter life crisis, so the quickest way to trigger me is to bring up year-related facts.

    For example!

    • Children born in the summer of 2005 are now teenagers!
    • People born after 9/11 are now juniors in high school!
    • The Dreamcast is 20 years old!
    • The PlayStation 2 is so old, it's older to us than the NES was to it!
    • Limp Bizkit qualifies as classic rock!
    • Nirvana released Nevermind 27 years ago. 27 years before then, Beatlemania had just erupted in the USA!
    • We are as far removed from the release of GTA Vice City as it was from its setting— 16 years!
    • 2018 is to 1990 what 1990 is to 1962!

Et cetera et cetera. Don't say any of that, it triggers me.

Take some doom metal songs and speed them up. It works better on traditional and stoner ones because then they sound like old-school heavy metal. It works the other way around— take any decent heavy/speed/thrash metal song and slow it down to doom metal speeds. It's always a fun time.

Also, I found the long-lost time signature to Radiohead's Pyramid Song by speeding it up 2x. It gains a little swing and loses the intentional discordance.

The alt-right is a fascist paleoconservative movement dressed up in the rags of postmodernist meme culture, and we shouldn't see it as anything other than this. Fascists of the 20th century were deeply afraid of their own sexuality and utterly terrified by female sexuality. Hell, when communist movements degenerated, this same fear of overt sexuality arose (most notably in Cambodia, which seemed like an almost parodic example of extreme sexual repression expressed through violence).
Because we kept teaching fascism as some ancient hysteria of a generation of man-beasts foaming at the mouth with ultrasadism, we forgot what it looked like in daily life. Fascism on the ground looked no different than the modern alt-right, with its glorification and demonization of sexual prowess (same way the alt-right is full of "alphas" as well as the incel movement that despises alphas). It's full of inconsistencies. Fascists craft a pure traditionalist utopia in their minds that existed at some point in the past and crave for modern society to return to what never existed. It's why they clean up the 1950s, considering it to be the age of capable masculine fathers, doting submissive mothers, rascally but well-meaning children and the family dog, all in an ethnically homogeneous suburb where everyone knew each other and went to church on Sunday. They erase memories of Eisenhowerian taxation because they aim for zero taxation whatsoever, not because of freedom but because it allows them the opportunity to amass power through capital. And when your mindset is "might makes right", you want to have the best chances possible to get as much might as possible. All that stuff about racism? That was just natural. If anything, it was desirable. In their minds, it's a dream of having power where they're totally in control.
That's why everything is a conspiracy, mind you. The idea that no one is actually in control is far more frightening than the idea that their mortal enemies are in control. If they can at least blame their moral failings and repressed desires on someone, they'll feel better about themselves.

"I'm not responsible for my own miserable state; they are! I am perfectly sexually capable! It's just the Jews creating utterly unrealistic SJW-friendly lies through porn that's causing this anxiety!"

Ironically, they're the same ones that will unironically violently defend misconceptions created by poorly-researched movies, TV shows, books, and video games.

(Getting off track to an ADD degree) Like this one fellow who called me a cuck just for saying Africa was not a Mad Max-esque dystopia where everyone still lives in huts shooting at each other, dying of AIDs, and generally living like the Industrial Revolution never happened or that there were never African empires. I called him out on that bullshit, giving actual sourced examples, but that was libtard cuck SJW bullshit for... reasons. Oh no, he was always told Africa was an undeveloped mess, so that's the truth. Meanwhile, he's probably the same sort who'd unironically say that it's the Jews responsible for creating false, anti-white, fetishistic sexual stereotypes in porn.

I said it elsewhere that there's likely a Pinko Wave on the horizon for the 2020s, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first domino.
I can't see anyone else but Bernie Sanders putting up a decent fight against Trump, especially not this late in the game. This is sad because of Bernie's advanced age— the Democrats are so disorganized right now that their best hope lies in the hands of someone who will be 79 in 2020! Then again, I think he'd be their best hope even in a better year. I'd wage money to say he'll be the next POTUS and the Blue Wave will materialize in time for 2018, but if the Dems don't step up their grassroots game, they're going to get reamed in 2022.
I also can't see Jeremy Corbyn not becoming the next PM of the UK. Unlike the US Democrats, UK Labour actually is promoting a grassroots movement.

Then there's Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who is so much of a socialist that even socialists think he's far to the left. Macron's victory in France has supercharged a leftist movement that's likely going to see this red Jacobin take power come 2023.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador is going to win in Mexico. Just flat out, he will win. It's not even going to be close.

And that's just what I can see for right now.
