More old school remakes ala Crash and Spyro. Maybe Abe's? Conker's?
Rockstar will spruik their last ever release, RDR2, which will still be milking desperate children for Shark cards alongside GTA V in 2100.

As for Bethesda predictions I would say:
We will probably hear about their new game "Starfield"
New additions to "Quake Champions"
Something for "Elder scrolls". I know the "Sumerset" expansion just launched for ESO, but maybe we'll see another expansion hinted at, or another re-release of "Skyrim", or an expansion for "Elder Scrolls: Legends".
Probably some DLC for "Wolfenstein 2"
Also, I think it was confirmed that they are working on a new mobile game, so maybe we'll see something about it.

No more timed exclusives or exclusive content bullshit. I hate how that's a thing. It's so stupid. Especially exclusive content that amounts to more than just a skin. Destiny 2, I'm looking at you.
Yes, exclusives need to die. They are so anti-consumer and somehow people still seem to celebrate having more exclusives on "their" platform than others.

If there were no exclusives, there would be no reason for additional consoles. With only one console, that's when consumers are the most vulnerable.
When we buy a console, we buy into the company's whole unique ecosystem. When a competitor comes out with something great that our choice doesn't have, ideally we'd get something good on our console as well.
Then they should, imo, at least release simultaneously on PC, since that device isn't locked into 1 company's ecosystem. Microsoft has been doing this more recently with their windows releases....
Then they should, imo, at least release simultaneously on PC, since that device isn't locked into 1 company's ecosystem. Microsoft has been doing this more recently with their windows releases. Wish sony would follow suit. For example, I HAVE a ps4, but I don't even want to buy God of War for it because I'd rather play games on my PC (with better visual fidelity, control device freedoms, etc)

Modern consoles are basically just regular (slightly under-powered) computers in a different case, except maybe for handhelds. Why would we need more - or any - of those? They are pretty much identical already, except for arbitrary limitations imposed by the manufacturers.
The only one I see benefiting here is those console manufacturers. They create a segregation problem (e.g. by paying developers for exclusivity) that they then demand money for to resolve (i.e. buying into their hardware and ecosystem). Where does the consumer benefit here, as opposed to a scenario where all games and game services compete in the same space? Exclusivity just reduces competition between those developers. I am sceptical of how competitive current console services would be in a non-segregated environment.
You're right in that that consoles are just computers but what I am really talking is brand allegiance and a healthy market. My point isn't that you have to pay more money, but it's more about...
You're right in that that consoles are just computers but what I am really talking is brand allegiance and a healthy market.
My point isn't that you have to pay more money, but it's more about what you get with that money. What happens in the scenario where everyone just uses the same computer with Steam? I like Steam but what happens if Steam decides to stop service, or if there's a new CEO that wants to do some subscription/microtransactions/pay-more-for-less nonsense? Unlikely, but the worst case scenario is all gamers left screwed. The segregation problem is real and it's unfortunate for the Halo fans that absolutely must play Mario, but I think having separate consoles/companies/brands is ultimately better for consumers and having options. It keeps innovation strong, keeps these companies in check, and it brings out better quality games due to first-party ties and financial backing.
For example: EA, is known for their bad business practices. They're also a company that releases anything and everything on every platform, quality be damned. And I'm not saying first parties never have these problems but it seems more prevelent with make-for-all developers/publishers.
Releasing for every console or releasing for the only platform in a one-platform scenario usually means less is on the line.
I see what you are saying about a healthy market, but I am not sure that there is actually a conflict here. Competing services are certainly beneficial to consumers. The hardware competition...
I see what you are saying about a healthy market, but I am not sure that there is actually a conflict here. Competing services are certainly beneficial to consumers. The hardware competition certainly is, too. But the hardware competition isn't between re-sellers/assemblers of hardware (i.e. the console manufacturers), but between the hardware manufacturers (prominently nVidia, AMD, Intel). Without console-branded hardware, the competition would still be fully intact.
The problem I see is that the hardware and software products do not inherently depend on each other, but are arbitrarily made co-dependent by the console manufacturers, which hurts the ability of consumers choose between hardware and services freely and independently. They are putting a console-priced burden on the ability to switch, which reduces competition.
They could just offer their games and services on PC and still have exclusives. Installing multiple competing services is fine, and there already are a lot of them on PC. Having separate companies and brands is fine. But I can use all of them simultaneously, requiring them to actually provide good value instead of exploiting the sunk cost fallacy.
The way I see it, not only would competition not be fully intact, but not having consoles would destroy the industry. It's important to note that these console companies made the industry, not the...
The way I see it, not only would competition not be fully intact, but not having consoles would destroy the industry. It's important to note that these console companies made the industry, not the other way around.
Yes, if we boil it down to the metal, it's Nvidia vs AMD, but consoles are much more than their chips. If we remove consoles, it's not that we'd now get Mario with Halo, it's that we'd get neither of the two. No Gears, no Forza, no Uncharted, no Metroid. It's the games we care about, not the chips.
The console companies are ultimately responsible for most of the titles we love, and yes ultimately we the consumers have to choose. Not everyone has the money for all 3, but that's the price we pay for keeping games moving forward.
Forcing the companies to only create for PC is the very opposite of choice, and while they're not ‘consumers,’ everyone still loses. Companies don't operate out of altruism, and in the scenario that the console makers all started developing for PC it'd only be a matter of time until AMD/Nvidia ends up saying “why are we letting Nvidia/AMD players play the same games and get the same services?” and we're back at square one. It's reason Uplay or Origin even exists, at some point, someone is going to say “I can compete with this.” And in order to compete you need to make great products.
While shelling out 300 for a console sucks, we're fortunate that the market is split between companies that actually care about gaming and not just chipmakers.

I don't really have money to spend on an Xbox, especially if I'm only wanting it for one game, And personally I prefer the KB/M controls. Let the group that did the Halo Online port continue their work, because there's obviously a market for it, and as of right now, it may as well be Halo 3: Custom Edition. Let it grow Microsoft, let it grow.

I'm BEGGING for a new Splinter Cell. The original was what made me play video games, and I still consider Chaos Theory one of the best games ever made. Blacklist was pretty good, way better than Conviction I think - but still a far cry from CT.
However I'm afraid there might not be a market for such slower paced action games anymore. I mean there are plenty of people out there like me - but not huge-blockbuster-hit-numbers...
Anyway, I feel fairly confident that we'll hear something about a new Splinter Cell...good or bad.
As is tradition, any bit of news on Cyberpunk 2077. It's crazy how there hasn't been a major open-world cyberpunk game, so this one is going to scratch a pulsating tumorous itch.

Ever since the Gamecube, I wanted to play Pikmin, but never could justify buying a Nintendo console just for it. So, yea, I'm unreasonably hyped about a Pikmin 4 announcement (or a 1-3 HD pack, for that matter). Maybe more than Metroid, certainly more than Smash and Pokemon. I think that Nintendo cares little enough about Pikmin's sales to just shove it in-between some major announcements and Miyamoto loves the franchise and has been announcing a "near-finished" Pikmin 4 for years, supposedly. So... fingers crossed.

I've been waiting to see another trailer for years now. Something with just a little more information at least.
I think I heard a rumour saying that they had something related to Cyberpunk 2077 instore for e3.

Microsoft will definitely be showing a car. They will most likely announce the next Forza Horizon.
Based on recent rumors, I think Sony might say something about the Playstation 5, but that might be next E3 instead of this one.
A PS5 announcement would make sense, since the PS4 is dying down somewhat at this point. I would imagine that we might get a teaser about it, but it'll probably be announced next year for a 2020 launch.

There's no point making a new console unless the specs will be drastically different imo.
I thought the switch already supported the GameCube adapter for Wii U, or did you mean something else with GameCube compatibility?
The switch supports the GameCube adapter, but it doesn't work perfectly (there's a few buttons such as stick clicks and either L or ZL that doesn't work, for example), and iirc was added by accident.
What I mean is an official Switch version of the adapter as well as support for the adapter in Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch (among other games, hopefully)
Oh yeah, my bad, I can't imagine a possibility of them not adding official support because of the Smash community's love for using GC controllers.
Bloodborne is in my top 5 games ever but I would rather it not get any sequels. In my eyes, it was a perfect game and worked so well as a stand alone title. If anything, a new IP would be awesome, but like you said I'm not expecting it.
Microsoft + Bethesda: "We are excited to announce Skyrim on the Ford Infotainment System!"
Definitly in agreement about AC. Releasing one two years in a row would rush them too much.
Super Mario Maker for Switch.
Then maybe I can convince my dad to help me get one. The Wii U version is what helped me get over 900 followers on Twitch and this might spur another growth for me. I need validation 🤞🤞🤞
An update on the Final Fantasy 7 remake would be nice. Just, any news at all. Please Sony?
Also, a new Animal Crossing game would be awesome.
Yea hasn't there been radio silence on the FF7 front since the crazy hype release trailers? I feel like I've heard nothing about it since then.
Yeah, basically we got a trailer a few years ago and then radio silence. It breaks my damn heart, man.
Sadly production on FF7 Remake began in September, so don't hold your breath.
So you're saying there's a chance!
As far as I know, the actual game is so early in development they don't have much worth showcasing.
Particularly when you consider the rumors from a while back that they basically started over. Something to do with bringing development in-house instead of relying on external studios, and scrapping a lot of what those studios made.
My predictions (I have learned never to hope).
Have you played with VR? I don't believe it should be the main medium that is catered to by developers, but it's really fun in my experience!
I have the Samsung Gear VR (came free with my phone, I wouldn't have bought it) and there is definitely some aspects to it that I enjoy - but the tech is just so not there yet for gaming. I love it for VR photos and videos, and there are some things from outside the entertainment space that are very exciting, but people have certain expectations for games that VR can't meet yet, but try to miserably.
Note: I have worked with the Rift, Vive and HoloLens for some of those outside the entertainment space functions, I'm not judging it purely on mobile gaming power.
I feel like a lot of VR games hit the nail on the head with what VR can (and should) be. Many RPGs (The Gallery ep1 and 2, Vanishing Realms, etc) and FPS (Sairento, Superhot, etc) games on VR use unique VR techniques to make the gameplay feel very rewarding.
Yeah. Space will likely be a limiting factor for a long time for VR. The 2D Treadmills are awesome, but extremely cost prohibitive currently.
Have you tried beatsaber? It's a huge amount of fun.
I have to disagree with you there, VR is fully there for gaming. Most of my experience is with PSVR but the experiences that won me over were things like the Deep Blue experience and Tilt Brush. I could have spent hours with the demo Vive but only had a 10 minute window.

Yeah, I really want more info in it. Here's hoping the address some of the short comings if Fallout 4.
They probably want to just make a few more good games cause they know ES6 is a massivly hyped game whenever it comes out.
I really want to see more of Red Dead Redemption 2, but Rockstar has a spotty showing at E3 in the past.
Please just give us a hint that it's coming out on PC.

I'm very hopeful for what Valve bring to the table this time around.
Thing is, he said that a year+ and we haven't heard a peep about any of those 3 games. It's just as likely that they're cancelled, in development hell, or still in pre-production and going nowhere as it is that they are real games in active development.
I just really want an animal crossing on switch....Its been 6 years....
Bloodborne 2, with a PS4 Pro mode for Bloodborne 1 ‘available right now’. That would make my E3.
Man, I just want sweet new games from both Sony and Microsoft. Sony has been killing it with their games, and I want to see Microsoft do the same.
I would also love to see even more backwards compatibility from Microsoft, as well as 4k updates to a lot more of their games.
Especially with the price of consoles now. I've been a die-hard Halo guy since it came out, so I only got the Xbox One to play Halo 5. I desperately want to play God of War and Mario Odyssey but I can't drop ~300 dollars per system just to play one game. So I guess I just miss out. Bummer.
I disagree - console exclusives keep competition healthy and is ultimately better for the consumer.
One of my most desired announcements would be the port (a good one) of the Master Chief Collection to PC. I don't really have money to spend on an Xbox, especially if I'm only wanting it for one game, And personally I prefer the KB/M controls. Halo 5 for PC would be awesome as well because even though I don't own an Xbox, I'm considering getting the Xbox Game Pass. Aside from Halo, I'd love to see VC and Super Mario Maker on switch.
I would say... as much as MCC would be awesome, I'd love it if the Dewrito devs got hired to continue their Halo Online port. Seeing how terrible MCC was and how they're only JUST starting to make it better now, I don't want that.
Let the group that did the Halo Online port continue their work, because there's obviously a market for it, and as of right now, it may as well be Halo 3: Custom Edition. Let it grow Microsoft, let it grow.
I'm interested in learning more about Rage2 and possibly Borderlands3.
Also hoping Waluigi gets in smash. (and thats its a new game and not a port of the wiiu version)
The only things I'm particularly interested in are The Division 2, (hopefully something from) Cyberpunk 2077, and perhaps The Last of Us 2? Anything else will be a surprise to me.
Still hoping for an Advance Wars remake from Nintendo. I know it will never happen, but the hope never quite dies....
I'm looking forward to original games, and hoping for less remakes, remasters, rote sequels. I'm looking forward to Devolver's "press conference" because I love their taste. But mostly I'm looking forward to Giant Bomb's after shows because they're so much fun to watch.
I love that Devlover has made a new name for themselves promoting really creative indie games and coming up with buckwild press conferences. Minit is probably one of my favourite games from this year and I can't wait to see what else they have coming.
I hope to see Halo 3 Anniversary.
On a more realistic note, a teaser for Halo 6. Something—anything. It’s gotten so bad that r/halo has taken to meme mondays.
Honestly, I used to be a massive Halo fan. Loved the series to death. They've just fallen into a massive rut and forgotten what Halo used to be. I don't want Halo 6 anymore. They tried to court the wrong market and it shows, terribly.
It sounds like Sony won't be announcing anything new and will just be showing their four big games. My hope is that that is inaccurate.
This year I am keeping my expectations in check and just waiting to see what will be revealed. I know Nintendo won't have much 1st party stuff so I'm really interested in seeing if that recent leak is true and what other games will be announced.
