I analyzed the ping while playing a few matches, and noticed that the lag seemed to happen immediately after a very short spike in ping, usually around 500ms or so for maybe a second at most. Unfortunately the game's netcode did not adjust for the lag once the connection was resolved, resulting in a laggy game.

This fix isn't necessarily challenging to fix, so Camelot could reasonably get a patch out during the first few days of, if not before, launch.

I've been replaying Pokémon Red, mostly to get back into the series, and get familiar with Kanto as a region, before Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. Also been playing through Persona 4, and been putting a decent amount of time into Just Shapes and Beats.

I've also been playing a decent amount of the Mario Tennis Aces demo, although that ends today so I won't be able to play any more of it.

I don't think that every game should be open world, but I do think that a game can be "too linear". I don't necessarily mean that the game puts you on a straight path, however, but rather what a game lets me do. If a game places an object in its environment I expect that I should be able to interact with it in some way. If you create a wide open area filled with unique objects and characters but only allow me to explore and interact with it when you want me to, then I am actively fighting with the game itself. A game can be linear, but a linear game should still allow some degrees of freedom, as otherwise the game essentially ends up feeling like a movie with some quick time events.

I won't say that tutorials are inherently a bad thing, but there is a balance to them. In my opinion a game should either naturally infuse the tutorials into their environment (like many older games as well as many newer games) or make it an optional experience, either as an alternate option on the menu or a settings toggle if the tutorials appears in popups.

Of course, when something can be taught naturally it should, but there are cases where all of a game's mechanics can't be taught naturally. Many fighting games and RPGs for example, have a hard time of teaching their player the basic controls and mechanics without using popup menus, and as long as these can be disabled so they don't get in an experienced players way, I don't take issues with them. What I do take issues with however, is a game using these popup menus and other "lazy" tutorial methods when more natural methods can be used.

The switch supports the GameCube adapter, but it doesn't work perfectly (there's a few buttons such as stick clicks and either L or ZL that doesn't work, for example), and iirc was added by accident.

What I mean is an official Switch version of the adapter as well as support for the adapter in Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch (among other games, hopefully)

Marvel is probably going to slow down a bit after Avengers 4, in order to build up another threat over the course of 10 years. During that time Disney might try to focus much more on Star Wars, and maybe even tell some of the old republic stuff, since you have a large amount of stuff there you could tell.

Exactly. I don't think Disney can just keep on jumping ahead 30 years and making trilogies, and I think they know that too. Marvel has a thing going for them, and I think that showed Disney that people will watch a movie just because it is connected to a franchise that they love, rather than just because it contains specific characters that they enjoy. Hopefully this leads into more movies in the future.

Disney seems to be taking parts of the EU and modifying them to fit their needs. All of the major points of Han's backstory (the Kessel run, winning the Falcon in a game of sabacc, growing up on Corellia as an orphan, meeting Chewbacca) are the same, but differences are made in order to tie in other characters (such as Darth Maul through Crimson Sun) and just modify the story in general (Chewbacca and Han's early relationship, for example)

In a lot of ways, it's the same way that Marvel adapts a comic book story. The main characters and events are similar, but everything else is different to fit the tone and world that other movies have already setup. I have high hopes for this new Star Wars universe if Disney can keep on doing what they've been doing so far with Solo.

I'm actually glad for this. Here's what I'm hoping for: (Some Solo and Rebels spoilers)

Boba Fett works with Jabba in the future, and Han is going to tatooine to work for Jabba. I'm hoping this movie features a short cameo from Han, but more importantly, Jabba's crew ends up having some kind of feud with Crimson Red (which Maul becomes in charge of). Maul ends up going to Tatooine, and at the end of the movie senses the presence of a powerful Jedi, Obi Wan Kenobi.

It is canon that 2 years before Yavin (which is also before ANH) Maul and Obi Wan have a fight on Tatooine, in which Maul learns of the existence of Luke Skywalker before shortly dying. Have an Obi Wan movie immediately following the Boba Fett movie, showing Obi Wan living on Tatooine, watching over Luke, and facing Maul. Bam, new prequel trilogy right there. Hell if you want to, 2BBY is still before Rogue One, so tie it into that somehow. Maybe have the emperor send a message to Darth Maul regarding the status of the Death Star or something.

Just a bit of fanboying, but still, Disney could pull off something great here.
