you ask me... The highest rank of the game is master but, once you reach it, you can't derank from it.
...and because of the various rank inflation mechanics, you can reach masters even with a 38% winrate (maybe even less, but that's the worst one i've seen)
so you could be a masters 1600-1700 player and you can have teammates that just reached masters with a <40% winrate because "technically" you're both masters so your skills are technically considered the same.

It's a tencent game, a 5v5 pvp topdown moba for the switch and for mobile where your pokemons evolve troughout the match. Think of league of legends but with pokemon.
Uninstalled it yesterday and not looking back.
Matches are fixed, the game actively punishes you for doing good by putting you with worse and worse teammates until you end up losing. The better you are at the game, the worse your teammates get. It's really painful to lose to a bunch of enemy idiots just because the rest of your team is made out of even bigger idiots, but that's how the game is designed to be, it caters to a more casual kind of playerbase and they have no plans to make it more competitive.
What's worse is that the community knows it and has come to accept it. After talking about my last losing streak with another player they told me "that's sad, just take a break, the algorithm will detect your recent losses and give you better matchmaking tomorrow".
    FUCK.
    THAT.

Maybe it's a cultural thing, but i think a bit of banter is ok. I never said it should be fine to harass people for watching those shows, i watched madoka magica, pretty cure, nana, and other shows like that myself, and my friends make fun of me for it but it's all in good fun. Personally i feel like i deserve some flack for admitting to watching those shows, that's the only reason why i wrote "rigtfully so".

Italy here, there's a divide between classic anime and "anime" anime. Everyone is ok with stuff like dragonball, saint seya, sailor moon, gundam wing, more niche stuff like evangelion or trigun, even stuff like naruto or onepiece are generally considered mainstream and totally acceptable to watch, albeit a bit weird.
Then you have slice of life stuff or magical girl stuff, and that's what's considered weird. There's still weeb communities that watch those shows, but if people actually catch a whiff that you're watching that kind of stuff you'll get clowned to no end (rightfully imo)

I don't know how to find new communities, i don't know if the communities i find are THE main community, i don't know what beehaw is and why it being de-federalized matters, if i'm subscribed on a lemmy istance for some reason i can't login into another instance even tho the website looks exactly the same, but i know that i'm not supposed to make multiple accounts so i don't know what's going on, etc etc...
And even then, the community jumped straight to karma farming (or bluevote farming, i don't know what they call upvotes on lemmy) and started posting low effort memes with broad appeal to get as many fake internet points they could.

No thanks, i'll chill out here for a bit and when things settle down i might give lemmy a second shot

Honestly doesn't seem to be a good test at all, it was pretty obvious to see what answers were "supposed" to be correct and which were "supposed" to be labelled fake. Seems more like an high school project than a psychology test, pretty bummed.

    Pokemon unite
it's a pokemon themed MOBA that would have been a dream come true hadn't it been plagued by the most predatory engagement tactics in the mobile game developing book. The game is made by Tencent and is essentially a 5v5 pvp game played with and against real people, it lures you in with good matches and fun battles at the beginning, only to become worse and worse once their algorithm detects that you're hooked.

The game has a sleugh of malevolent practices, from predatory gachas (where little kids have been scammed into paying real money to get nothing in return), to favorable matchmaking for money spenders, using free2play players as fodder for them, and everything inbetween.
Even if you're aware of all the traps laid by the devs, the game is still pretty much unplayable. It has a forced 50% winrate for everyone, so for example if you win 3 matches the game will make you lose the next 3 matche by stacking the opposite team with really good players, while putting really bad ones in your team. The game is designed in such a way that it's impossible for a single player to win alone without their team, even pro players complained about the matchmaking cause the game was unplayable for them unless they played in a team.
The cosmetic skins for the characters can reach 40$ and the way they sell them is by making the characters overpowered when the skin releases, only to nerf them to the ground after the skin stops selling. Sometimes they're too slow at making skins so instead they lock the pokemons themselves behind a paywall, last one was so obscenely broken it made the game nigh unplayable, made half the playerbase quit and if you wanted to have it you'd have to pay almost 40 bucks.

I love pokemon and i tried to give this game so many chances, but every time it leaves me burned. Tencent is milking the franchise for what it's worth without a care for the players, absolutely wouldn't recommend and if your kids play it consider uninstalling it for their wellbeing.

Yes, but it's not your typical struggle, i took a clinical approach to it. Sorry if i can tell the whole story but i'm in a rush.
Essentially i was going trough a very hard time mentally, i had just come out of high school a messed up man and started going trough college in a foreign country where everything started going wrong. I flunked all my exams, living in that city was too expensive, roomates were hell, but despite all that i didn't give up and slowly started feeling better about myself. Things were far from perfect but i finally had my indipendence and all my mental struggles were being kept at bay.
Until one day, for no reason, i started slowly falling back into the void. I had no idea why but something shifted in me that made me act erratic. I couldn't recognize myself, i'd say things that i never meant to say, act in ways that i never wanted to, i would go under my bed covers in the middle of the day and cry for no reason, i was a mess. This went on for months, almost a year, as i slowly got more and more deranged.

One day i broke a disposable razor, took the blade out of it, and as i was crying and running it trough my arm i snapped out of it and realized that THAT was NOT me. Threw the blade in the trash, took a good look at my life and realized i was not myself anymore. I took action and realized i had an hormone imbalance, something in my diet was messing with my hormones and that's what was driving me crazy. I ended up cutting them out of my diet and my mental health immediately improved. The old me came back, i started getting healthier, my body started putting more muscles, i was fine.
Despite my life having its up and downs

It's not even out yet (even tho it should have been) but Beyond: Good & Evil 2
The first one was released in 2003 and it was a criminally underrated masterpiece, a life defining experience, while the second one has been stuck in development hell for what seems to be the last 15 years with no release date in sight. The original Beyond Good & Evil (BG&E) has to be one of the best stories told in any media form ever, i've been watching movies for a while, read a ton of books from classics to new releases, tv series, videogames, and the original BG&E is up there amongst the best works out there.

But knowing modern game development practices i know already that BG&E 2 is not going to live up to the first one. The first already had a perfect ending that didn't need a sequel and the fact that they're hellbent into making one screams "moneygrab" to me.

Saying "I think he may be cheating" is not the same as saying "he's cheating", it was not a direct accusation and it was fair to assume so given his sketchy postgame interviews and his online track record. Niemann could have handled this so much better and even come out on top of the situation hadn't he let his edgy internet persona spill into the real world.

As an european, i've never been comfortable with the way america media makes light of the nazis.
Talking about nazis here has always been an heavy subject, we've all been made aware of the atrocities they committed, all the suffering they brought, the carnage. And we make sure that history is never forgotten least it repeats itself.
Then you watch any american movie or play any american war game, and all of them paint hitler as some sort of goofy saturday morning cartoon villain with the nazis being just some kind of silly goons.

I think the way american media has made light of the nazis for the better half of the past century is half the reason why nazi ideology has made a comeback in the last few years. If people knew the horrors that nazis were capable of they wouldn't want to associate with them.
I think that going back to remove or modify media that makes light of such tragedies is a good first step to make sure the subject is taken with the tact and respect it deserves.

    in short, no
Ai's are already cannibalizing off of eachother, using other AI made images to make more AI images, which other AI's are gonna use to make more images, resulting in a continuous corruption where the AI flaws get amplified over and over with every iteration. An hand with five fingers becomes one with 6 for example, then with 8 , then with 15, etc etc.
Ai's will keep feeding off of the work of real artists, but they need real artists to survive. They're like parasites that can end up killing their host if they get too big.
