    1. Install the Playstation Messages app (Android or iOS)
    2. Log in, and delete the offending message. Take a moment to report the user for abuse
    3. Turn your PS4 off
    4. Press and hold the power button for 7 seconds, until you hear a second beep.
    5. Connect a DualShock 4 with an USB cable, press the PS button to wake the controller
    6. Select option 5, "Rebuild Database". This will take a few minutes
    7. Your system should restart itself when it's done, otherwise, use option 1 to restart the system

All my recommendations were in the last thread as well, but I listen to the religiously

Talk Python - Long form interviews primarily about notable Python projects

PythonBytes - Short discussion style podcast where two people discuss notable events, changes, and projects within or relevant to Python

Stuff you should know - Two guys talking about interesting topics, usually with deep research into the history and tons of details. I didn't know that I needed to know so much about ballpoint pens, or grass, or plenty of other topics.

I listen to a few music podcasts as well, Brennan Heart's WE R HARDSTYLE and Isaac's Hardstyle Sessions are great if you like hardstyle. Otherwise, just finding a good music podcast is a great way to keep up with new music in genres you enjoy

Super excited for this one, I didn't think it would be coming out so soon! I'm really looking forward to seeing what all you can do with the weapon attachments. I always loved using traps in Sen's Fortress against the enemies, so i'm hoping you can get put together a wide variety of environmental attacks.

The resurrect system should add some good variety too, although I'm wondering how it will actually affect the gameplay. Will you lose your blood/souls/honor/whatever by resurrecting in a fight? Knowing Miyazaki it's going to be a punishing decision to use it.

I think the simplest approach is the "alternate character", and it could be implemented as simply as RewriteRule ^-(\w+)$ /~$1 [R=301,L] (or the equivalent nginx, or in Pyramid with a redirect or even just accepting both as valid URLs).

This allows anyone to type the url in the browser

For commenting, it could be remapped as well, it shouldn't cause problems, as hyphen-prefixing isn't really a thing in any language as far as I know, and it's nearly transparent for the users. It would be easy enough to detect a locale that is known to use a non-english keyboard to show a hint for it as well

I realize this post is a couple weeks old, but I have experience with a system a lot like this. On another forum I frequent, any topic can be tagged as "Anonymous", and all posts in that topic are just from "Human #1", "Human #2", and so on. Your Human # when posting in a topic is unique per topic, so you can have continued conversation within that thread alone, and when you post in another topic are assigned a new Human # for that individual topic. Posts do not show up under your public post history, although they are visible when you view your own post history. As far as I'm aware, even the moderators are not able to just view the identity either, unless they open a moderation case for a post, which is publicly logged to prevent abuse.

This system (as well as their Serious tag) can be applied to any topic, along with any other tag, which allows for topics tagged "Mental Health + Anonymous + Serious", where any trolling, flaming, harassment, or low-content posts are under a zero-tolerance policy, and punishment for which blocks any further use of the tag, as well as a timed site-wide suspension. Combinations like this allow users to discuss any topic, sensitive, private, or otherwise that they are unwilling to discuss publicly.

A fully anonymous topic could have no user IDs or names anywhere, fully anonymized API results, (simply returning anon-<thread>-1, or similar) to further protect the users identity when posting. This would completely negate the need for throwaways without compromising the public privacy of any users.

That sounds about perfect. I'm not sure how I'd feel about the skill system. On one hand, I love how Diablo 2 handles it, with a limited number of allowed respecs, making later difficulties less punishing as you can use one build for low levels, then another for higher difficulty play. Despite being a more hardcore player myself, I don't think I'd like respeccing to be too punishing. I think the skill system of Diablo 3 is great for more casual players as they can try any build without needing to roll another character or grind for hard-to-obtain materials. At the same time, it allows more hardcore players room for experimentation with a large variety of combinations.

I'm still dreaming for Diablo 2 Remastered though

Another forum I talk on has an "Anonymous" tag, and when a post is made using that tag, all users posting in the topic just show up as "Human #1", "Human #2", etc (so you can keep track of who's saying what, but no way to know who actually posted it). I really like this system, as it allows discussion of any topic without needing throwaways. Those posts also obviously don't show up in the user's post history, and the site rules have a zero-tolerance policy for guessing at, alluding to, or otherwise trying to discover or reveal another Human's identity.

I could also see "Serious" discussion being handled this way, allowing posts anywhere to be restricted to [Serious] discussion (a'la some subreddit's rules).

We're working on a new, unannounced Diablo project. Are you a skilled Dungeon Artist? Come work with us, and together we will build something exceptional.

    • Work directly with level design to build atmospheric dungeons with a focus on composition, detail and mood, while ensuring that the gameplay space is readable.
    • Work with Lead Environment Artist and the Art Director to ensure all environments are meeting the high-quality bar Blizzard is known for.
    • Experience working with a lead artist or art director in developing a unique and cohesive modeling and texturing style for environment assets

Definitely looks like a whole new game in the pipeline. Any other dungeon crawler fans on ~tildes so far? I think I've got 300+ hours in Diablo 3 alone, let alone 1 and 2.

What do you want in a new Diablo, what do you definitely not want?

I'm tempted to play with modeling this a bit, and see what I could come up with.

I'm not sure what would be considered a "good" balance of weighting lower-ranked posts vs activity, and also pruning high-vote topics that essentially got frontpaged so as not to break the weighting of other posts on these low-average vote tildes. Just ignoring extreme outliers works, but one could also take advantage of the fact that a ~politics.something.something post got extremely highly voted to decide that maybe other posts on that tilde could be worth more consideration instead.

I can't wait for tildes to go open source, I've got a little free time lately and would be happy to contribute

I was listening to some podcasts on the way to work (Python Bytes), Pendulum, The Prodigy, Brennan Heart, Zatox, Headhunterz, and Da Tweekaz. And then some Fall Out Boy on the drive home.

I also really enjoyed FATE: A Tribute to Majora's Mask over the weekend, and I'm sure I'll give it a couple more plays in the future.
