That's what they've been doing the entire time. Last I checked, YouTube has been a money pit. It hasn't turned profit yet.

google can still just subsidize it with all their other services that do make money.

Yeah I got lucky enough to live somewhere with informed consent so I was on HRT like a month after realizing I was trans (more like a month after I stopped denying it). Most of my family and a lot of my friends would be trying to throw up roadblocks if they could tho. But being a legal adult they can't stop me; and I came out to them as a fait accompli.

I sure as fuck considered not transitioning. I only realized I was a bit over seven months ago. At first, I didn't want to transition. I knew it would be awkward coming out to everyone and make at least the next few years very difficult. But then I read that most trans people regret not starting earlier, and very few regret transitioning at all. So I was basically like "20 isn't a bad age to transition and I'm not getting any younger. Shit, these next two years are gonna be awkward as fuck. Might as well get this over with."

I'm kind of doxing myself by saying this, but I used to go to preschool there. Fuck. I don't know why, as my family isn't Jewish. I remember my mom pulling me early from there on 9/11.

Although not for art, this seems like the goal Tildes is trying to accomplish. Maybe if it's successful, other like-minded people will do the same for other types of websites like hosting art....

I feel this pressure and I hate it. Every time I tell a friend or family member about a cool idea I have for a fun project, they start telling me all the ways I can make money off it. But I actively avoid that way of thinking, because I know that as soon as I shift focus from "I want to do this cuz it's cool" to "I need to do this to make money," I immediately lose all interest.

On another note, one thing I observe is that many atheists oppose religion because of negative personal experiences.

This is true for me. I began doubting the existence of God when I was around 11 and was a full-fledged atheist by the time I was 13. Due to personal experiences, I can't believe in a God that is omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient. I later learned (as I'm sure you already know) that this is known as the problem of evil.

This doesn't really have a point I guess. Just wanted to reply to a part of your comment that resonated with me.
