Intuitively, and in an old-fashioned pre-internet sense, a personal aesthetic would either reference a way you present yourself outwardly (e.g. goth, hipster) or a kind of cultural expression or artistic style you like (steampunk, mariachi music, whatever).
I can't make sense of "my aesthetic is newly discovered habitable planets". To me, that reads like the output of a Markov chain. Can someone help a poor fellow who's out of the loop on the whole A E S T H E T I C thing?

In that case, my aesthetic is Burial's album Untrue. Now, this happens to be my favorite album, and I obviously appreciate it on a purely auditory level. But for me, the reason I keep coming back to this artist, and this album is particular, is that it evokes a very specific visual and emotional landscape. It feels like a journey through a night out on the town, with a particular emphasis on the tail end.
It's almost 3 in the morning, the bars are closing, you are walking or taking the bus home alone. The buzz you had (off alcohol or other drugs) is fading. The world is gray and wet but it's not quite raining. You had a lot of fun, you got everything you could reasonably expect. But there's also a melancholy feeling that you'd been secretly hoping for something more - a bit more of a genuine human connection, perhaps. You had fun but you're still going home alone. You wish you weren't alone - I'm not talking about sex, just the feeling of ending the night together with someone you have an emotional connection to, whether it be a platonic friend or lover. The residual euphoria allows you to appreciate the beauty of this stage of night, to relive the memories you made, but it's mixed with exhaustion and melancholia. And you wonder if any of it will have any meaning in the morning.
Now that's my aesthetic, and that album in particular does a very effective job of evoking it. (And from the interviews I've read with the artist, these are if not exactly, very much in the vicinity of the sorts of associations and emotions he wanted to evoke.)

Checked it out today. Found it fairly repetitive and uninspiring. I think since Rival Dealer (2013) his style has become a lot more diverse, experimenting more with genres and styles. And that's made his stuff a lot more hit and miss for me personally. To me, there was enough variety in his stuff prior to that, that I'd happily listen if he kept producing the same sort of stuff for another decade or more. But I understand that's not necessarily satisfying to an artist.
I identified very strongly with that melancholy, underground-club-music-but-kind-of-toned-down style he had. And I was okay with the slightly more upbeat stuff he put out after Untrue, but after a while, it became too disconnected from what I personally wanted from him. But artists are not obligated to satisfy me personally, and if that's what he wants to do, more power to him. I'm still gonna listen to his new stuff, but at least half of it is stuff I won't be coming back to a decade plus later, unlike Untrue or even Kindred or Rival Dealer.

I really, really like being able to dress up (or dress down) because I can express myself in ways that I don't get a chance to in normal society. This is a big reason for why Halloween is my favorite holiday.
I also have an issue with body dysmorphia (probably mild dysphoria too) so getting positive comments on my body helps my mental state, despite me thinking that people are just being nice to me and insincere.

Is it the confined space that you are looking for? The excitement that comes from the possibility that your rave might get shut down? The intense dark/light contrast? That more people tend to be on drugs at warehouse raves? The heavy plur focus that comes with less commercialized raves? Something else?

It's not so much that the people got together to make the rave happen, but people get together to make connectivity and good vibes happen. Insomniac and ULTRA are probably the two biggest rave festival companies out there. I'd take a look at their next events close to your area and check em out.

Yeah this is something I miss. This kind of scene probably still exists somewhere, but I haven't bothered to really dig around the internet to try and find it. I don't really know any promoters anymore because outside of quite recently, I haven't been to raves in almost a decade, and I can't remember which contacts in my phone are promoters and which are just ravers I met 😂

But I kept reaching for different things that didn't describe me – rather my perceptions of myself, what tended to highlight my insecurities.
