There are also Pixel Buds Pro now which are probably nicer). When used with my phone they have extra Google Assistant features and such, but I often use them with my MacBook too and that works just fine even though it's 3rd party / they aren't AirPods. I imagine they'd also be just fine with a PC via a dongle.
This is probably true of all modern wireless earbuds, but one great feature is that I can just have one earbud in use while the other is charging. If you know you'll be using them for a very extended time, you could just use only one earbud at a time and then swap to the other whenever the battery gets low (no interruption in audio -- going from single bud to dual bud usage is seamless and vice versa, so just pop the second one in, wait a moment for it to come on, then pop the first one out). Also if you're using both and the battery gets low in both, you can swap back and forth between single buds every 15 minutes or so to get them charged back up without interruption because they charge faster than they discharge. A bit awkward, but you get used to it.

Whenever an app needs my SSH key I get prompted to unlock my vault (which would maybe be a hassle if you're entering your master password each time, but it's fine on my MacBook because I can use the fingerprint sensor). The decrypted/unlocked state of the keys has a separate timeout from the rest of your vault though, so for example I have access to my passwords set to lock after 10 minutes of inactivity but my SSH keys only need to be unlocked again every few hours.
It can be a slight hassle if you're running a long script that needs your keys, for example I have a script to deploy the dev environment for my current work project on a kubernetes cluster, and it needs to do some git operations after waiting for a long running task, so when I ran it and walked away it would fail because I wasn't around to unlock the key when the script needed it. Hence setting a longer timeout.

Sure, eyeballs on social media have value, but only very indirectly. It's also a lot harder to monetize the fact that your site has eyeballs on it when there are no ads to sell.
I honestly think the simple fact alone that it's not a system built around money will help quite a bit with it being a net good in general.

It needs to become a whole lot easier to use if it's ever going to compete with centralized services.
But the point of it is that a federated network cannot be controlled by a single entity: if we were all using Mastodon instead of Twitter, Elon Musk couldn't have come in and ruined it for everyone. At worst a popular Mastodon instance maintainer decides to start ruining stuff on his instance, at which point everyone there would just move to a different instance (and retain all their posts, friends, follows, etc because that data is owned by you the user, not the app)

No amount of shaking my phone will make the wallet fall off, although I am also using the Peak Design phone case which has extra strong magsafe magnets as well. I imagine with a different magsafe case it would still hold pretty well.

Right now a Framework laptop might be a little too expensive vs repairing something you have, but if they are ever able to scale up and bring prices down to be competitive, and/or they get enough interest that other manufacturers start making things more easily repaired because they recognize it as something users want, then that impossible not-worth-it battery swap problem goes away. A battery swap in a Framework style laptop takes seconds.

It took me a long time (and therapy, and finding the right meds) to level out and I've been stable and happy now for years. No matter how bad it gets it can always get better -- it's not forever.
Depression (especially to the degree you describe) can be a very isolating feeling. So it bears repeating, don't let yourself forget: you're not alone. It's a thing many people experience, and lots of them are willing to listen and help. The best thing you can do is talk to people -- making this post was a step in the right direction.
The other advice I would give is to make sure you're taking care of your body. It's hard, especially when you feel like you don't deserve it and you don't have the energy, but make sure you are drinking plenty of water, eating real food (when you can, I know the call of junk food is strong and you don't need to feel bad about that), and going outside to walk now and then. If you're feeling up to it, do a couple jumping jacks or pushups. Even just one, trust me, it might feel good.
It makes a huge difference for me when I'm depressed to just focus on these basics. Especially hydration! Drink water! I have a 40 oz water bottle at my side at all times. It's every bit as helpful as my meds.
I'm glad you're here. Take it one day at a time.
