Disappointing to see they removed the green and white. I quite liked the original tricolor design of the new flag, and this blue-only adjustment looks far more bland.

I agree but this is still a massive improvement. I'd say even with the stripe omission it's instantly one of my favorite state flags. The subtle shape of Minnesota is just superb 🤌

Huh, I thought they'd settle on something acceptably mediocre, but this is actually good. I really, really like it. Good vertical symmetry. Good horizontal balance. Good color palette. Nice...

Also, I wanted to see what the North American Vexillological Association rated other flags. And so far I can only find a 2001 survey for all US territories, not just states, that used numbers instead of letter ratings. Just slightly annoyed, especially since the link itself acknowledges several flags have changed since then. also some of those flags should be rated way lower Does anyone know if there's any ratings with the letter grades rather than a survey? So far the new Minnesota flag is taking up the brunt of search results, followed by city flag surveys.
I was hoping the one he liked best would win. This is an interesting version of it. I like the tri color options he presented, but I get why they went with light blue for the lakes.

People in Minnesota are feeling a lot of feelings about the flag design, it's the talk of every group chat in town, which is funny :) I like how the light blue disappears into a blue sky...

I like how the light blue disappears into a blue sky background, highlighting the navy shape of Minnesota, as well as representing our lakes that blend in with the color of the sky. Some people don't like that aspect of it (blending in with the sky,) but I think it works nicely.
Minnesota, to me, is clear skies, blue water, and fresh air. The new flag captures that perfectly.
This is a massive improvement. This is how flag design should look.
Please, Pennsylvania. Take notice!

He had a video within the last week grading the finalists for this competition too!

I'm in Washington. I would love a new state flag design.

I was praying I would click the link to see this. Maybe next time
