What’s your desert island beer?

You probably know the drill, but in case not - you get an unlimited supply of one specific beer to drink when marooned on an island - presumably til death.

I love California blondes. I want to try some others that ~ loves, and thought other folks might like to do the same.

Firestone Walker 805 for me. You?

edit: just to say, oops, not dessert...desert.

I'd take dessert Island over beer, 100%. I also don't drink. My dessert Island dessert is probably either butter tarts or birthday cake.

Ooh! My dessert island would have Caramel Apples, Creme Brulee, or Tres Leches cake.

This is pretty basic, but I'd go with Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Lemonad-ey and refreshing

You might like Lagunita's Dark Swan, a beer I recently found. It's a sour ale brewed with wine grapes...it's quite unlike any other beer I have had before.

I'll have to keep an eye out for it! I'm quite fond of Lagunitas, but I don't think I've seen Dark Swan before.

Any Hefeweizen, really. Even Hoegaarden. They're all damn refreshing, and go down like water.

They've started putting this on the inside of their boxes! Last time I bought it, I was greeted by "who-garden" written behind the bottles on the cardboard.

But for real, it'd probably be something nice and light for sunshine drinking, e.g. Treehouse's Eureka or a (draught) of Weihenstephaner. If I could bring a night-time beer as well, maybe I'd go for a nice stout

New Glarus Spotted Cow. Not the best beer in existence, but one of the easiest drinking ones. Can have it damn near anytime of the day just fine.

Easy drinking is the deal for me 90% of the time. Sometimes I like a challenge, but on a dessert island I’d probably drink a bit more than usual.

I'd keep it local with Ardent's Company Man German Pilsner. I would get sick of any IPA or Stout I tried to go with.

There's a lot of beers that are really good, but you've got to consider the long game here. Yuengling is a good choice for this because it's perfectly inoffensive in addition to being awesome on its own.

That’s my psych up mantra just before I walk into the liquor store.

Probably Dark Horse by a Danish brewery named Ørbæk Bryggeri. In general I'm a huge fan of malt beers. And having read this post I'm now dying for a beer at 4pm.

Seems like you might be from California, so maybe if you keep an eye out you’ll get a chance to try my desert island pick, if you like IPAs. It’s Bodhizafa from Seattle’s Georgetown Brewing: an IPA that strikes the perfect balance of flavor intensity and drinkability. I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of California blondes, but 805 is pretty good, and I have enjoyed other Firestone Walker beers.

I'm a big fan of sour witbier so pretty much any good sour witbier. In fact, does anyone have any suggestions for a good one I can pick up (I live in Toronto, if that matters)?

Treehouse Sap or Trillium Cutting Tiles. If I'm going big, Boulevard's Rye-on-Rye.
