This is bumming me the hell out.
Agreed, its a real bummer. Especially reading through the post, hearing that he had a group of bad actors dox and attempt to ruin his life is so disheartening. I wish we had a better middle ground...

The net isnt built for that anymore, but we can dream. If anyone has any recommendations for alternative hosts of this type of content, id love to hear some. I find that with the rise of making discord, too many if these projects are isolated until they blow up or get taken down.
Some hacking communities have their own forums (like smw central or metroid construction, I think there are some related subreddits too), but I fear newer groups will just create discord servers...

At least the archive is a reasonable size for others to archive in addition to archive.org (like 12GB) so there will be plenty of copies of it out in the world, in case someone wants to take on the task of doing a new site or something at some point.
