The Steam Summer Sale has started (June 21 - July 5)
Here's a link to the SteamDB sales page, which is usually easier to browse than Steam itself: https://steamdb.info/sales/

Every since they added returns and removed flash sales, these seasonal sales have been super boring. Hardly anything ever goes to historic lows anymore.
i dunno, i wasn't expecting much but my wishlist is on fire. i bought the $30 paypal deal and didn't think i'd spend it for a while, but i've already spent most of it.
I own one. If it supported remote login of the computer it's connected to, it would be great. But it doesn't and I'm not going to get off my chair, go down to my basement office, unlock my PC, go back upstairs, connect through SteamLink and then play. If it's going to make me go down to my PC, I'm just going to sit there and play.
So I gave it to my son. I'm not sure why he uses it as his gaming rig is sitting on a desk that's right beside his 4K TV that's connected to it by HDMI. So he can just connect his K/M and controllers wirelessly to his PC and leave out the SL. But he's 28 and makes up his own mind.
Yeah, it's kind of disappointing. You're just mirroring your desktop to your TV. And the performance isn't that great, either.
How bad are we talking?
I'd like to play Elite: Dangerous from the luxury of my cheap futon.
To expand on this, there's pretty noticeable response lag, so anything requiring timing or good reflexes won't be particularly viable options. If you want to play competitively, connect to your TV via HDMI.
i've literally played dark souls 3 using mine of 5ghz wifi. i did experience some hiccups, but it was overall fine.
I've never had trouble with mine. Wire it in with an ethernet cable and you're good to go. I've had no problem with games as graphically vigorous as Far Cry 5.
It must have, but I actually like mine. Me and my roommates connected our PCs to it, and we use it when we're all hanging out together. We also use it for movies, since we're poor and only have one TV.
Sure looks like it flopped though, that it does.
Yep, its broken...
Yesss, Sonic Adventure DX for $1.19 and Sonic Adventure 2 for $3.39!
Edit: Remember to check SteamDB for historical info on games you're interested in purchasing!
Man, such good games. I do wonder though what the experience is like for people brand new to the games. They're special to me because I played them on Dreamcast and then later Gamecube back in the day, so I'm used to their quirks and general roughness (camera angles, etc.)
Modern games tend to be a lot more forgiving, so while the Sonic Adventure games are, I think, some of the most fun 3D platformer-style games around, I also think they're pretty inaccessible to modern gamers who never played them originally.
So while they're on sale like this is the perfect time to pick them up for those folks. Anyone considering it: give them a try and push through the initial frustration--they're awesome games.
Also, Chao gardens!
Or install Steam Enhanced to get all the info you need embedded in the steam website :)
Good that it happened while I have no money so I wont be able to buy games that I wont play. lol
Same here lol
On my wishlist, stuff I'm considering buying because the discount is large
VVVVVV -50% £1.99
Castlevania: Lord Of Shadow 2 - -80% £4.99
Dust: An Elysian Tale -75% £2.99
South Park: The Fractured But Whole -67% - £15.49
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus -60% £15.99
Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition - 50% £17.49
You must get VVVVVV. If you're a fan of the art of the difficult platformer, you're in for a treat. Great music, great visuals, challenging gameplay. So good.
Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.
Agreed, I've done two or three playthroughs of VVVVVV and it's one of my favorite platformers. The music certainly helps; it's very catchy!
Picked up the not a metroidvania bundle and rise of nations: extended edition (been kind of craving the old school rts/civ game). My Dota2/TF2/Pubg costmetics paid for it all :)
It seems to be up now - it's very slow, but it's just about working, mostly.
Does anyone have any good recommendations? Ive been looking at Squad
Squad is free to try right now, so you can give it a shot and decide if you want to buy it to keep playing after the weekend: https://joinsquad.com/readArticle?articleId=293
As usual, wait for the last day.
Why? There aren't any sort of time-limited sales any more, so what's the benefit of waiting?
Ah! My bad then, I don't follow closely the steam sales since a couple years at this point and was remembering that any timed offer was gonna come back the last day anyway
