I'll take it, although it's sad how low the floor is these days. With how radical and conservative young Canadian men are going, it's nice to know we haven't gone completely backwards.

There is a strong gender divide in so many countries... And while I don't think it's the cause, it sure seems like it's fuelled by social media. Honestly sometimes it just gets to me that we're...

Honestly sometimes it just gets to me that we're failing young men this way. I'm not even talking about having conservative believes economically, but about all the misogyny, homophobia and more that just stems from this hatred we let them build up. Because it starts with teaching them not to express their feelings in a healthy matter...
But yes, it is nice to see stars in the darkness. And we need that, desperately.
Huh. I'm pleasantly surprised to the degree that I'm scrutinizing the methodology..... It's not that I've seen evidence of queer-phobia in real life recently, I just didn't think we were doing...

It's not that I've seen evidence of queer-phobia in real life recently, I just didn't think we were doing anything special.
The reports about generational and gender divide, as well as backsliding worldwide is concerning though. Maybe we didn't make a lot of progress, we just regressed less than other countries....
I read it more as we backslid in the early 20s, and then have progressed again, thought not as quickly as Ireland, Thailand, Spain, Argentina and Mexico have reprogressed.

I have not yet seen a 2 in the LGBTQIA+ lineup and the article presupposes I know what it means. I get what it means contextually, of course, but do I need to update my lexicon? Can someone...

Can someone explain to me what it means and why I would use this?
This is kind of a fluff article, but sometimes good news is important too.

I love my northern neighbours.
And we love you too.

Edit: thank you for the answers
I assume it's two-spirit; somewhat more relevant in the Canadian context, but not exclusively.
Sometimes seen as 2S as well
It's just one of many variations/extensions of LGBT, particularly this one uses the 2 for two-spirit
I interpreted it as Q2, for queer/questioning. Two spirit wouldn’t surprise me either.
