It looks great. Kinda wish they had the courage of their convictions and weren't doing the fish-out-of-water, "real world", adventure story thing though. I don't understand why that's the story...

I don't understand why that's the story beat that gets shoe-horned in to so many properites. Yes Narnia and Harry Potter are neat, but kids don't need that or they can't get into a story. He-Man has demonstrably worked well enough in the past without it, that's why they're making more. I mean the Kevin Smith shows were well received AFAIK.
It feels odd because it's not like there's legions of parents who have to take their kids to their favorite cartoon movie. Just....steer into it. Your audience is people well into their adulthood....

Makes me suspect this was something else and then they said "oh we can layer he man over this". Which to be fair happens a lot and doesn't have to be bad.
And to be fair the effects/design are on point so far.
Maybe it's taking some inspiration from the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie? IIRC a good bit of that movie takes place on earth following a couple of high-school kids.

I would absolutely watch Castle Grayskull: For Good purely for the scene where Beast Man looks in the mirror a la teen wolf, only to be comforted by his skeletal bestie.

I always thought somehow that she's much older than me because she played Inara in Firefly, whose character is a well established ambassador. In real life she was only 22. Then again it was written by Joss Whedon....

Don't worry, we'll get plenty of Eternia worldbuilding in the upcoming HBO prequel series: Skeletor & Beast Man - The College Years.

For those who haven't witnessed this piece of related Internet history, behold the BoHeMan Rapshody.

Dear casting directors, stop calling Jared Leto please!
Also, this movie better have a long musical number.
He-Man gets to say his iconic catch phrase yet nary a single "Nya!"
