Song suggestions about: Cars, driving, trucking, racing, police chases, etc
Might be a weird one, but I like the uh..... aesthetic? I guess?
Some examples would be:
Artist | Album | Song |
---|---|---|
Megadeth | So Far, So Good...So What! | 502 |
The Presidents of the United States of America | Love Everybody | Highway Forever |
Deep Purple | Machine Head | Space Truckin' |
Convoy by C.W. McCall (and Paul Brandt's cover), East Bound and Down by Jerry Reed, Get On Down The Road by The Road Hammers, Black Cars by Gino Vannelli, Mercury Blues by Alan Jackson, Route 66 by Depeche Mode (the Beatmaster's Mix is good too), Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody, Someone Elseās Cadillac by Eric Heatherly, One Piece at a Time by Johnny Cash, Little Deuce Coupe by The Beach Boys
The Bluetones ā Autophilia (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love My Car) (2000)
A huge amount of Eurobeat is about cars and/or racing such as Gas Gas Gas or Black Out
This channel makes Eurobeat mixes with titles like EUROBEAT MIX FOR FAST TRAVELING TO TOKYO. They're not all about racing, but they basically all make me want to go fast so that might count for your purposes
Artist: The Bottle Rockets
Album: The Brooklyn Side
Song: Thousand Dollar Car
šµ I DUG my KEY inTO the side šµ
š¶ Of his pretty-little-souped-up four wheel driiiive š¶
šµ CARVED my name inTO his leather seeeeeeeeeeeeeeats šµ
(Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats")
I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
I mean, that's just a classic banger!
I definitely don't advocate the behavior mentioned in it, but The Offspring - Bad Habit is still my absolute favorite "pump me up" song about driving.

And the whole album that song is from, Smash, and all The Offspring's albums TBH, are great for driving to!
And while not full of songs specifically about driving, Top Gear (the UK car TV show) has put out a bunch of great compilation albums that are chocked full of other amazing songs to drive to as well: https://topgear.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Albums
Oh, how could I forget? The Keys to her Ferrari by Thomas Dolby off of Aliens Ate My Buick. It even includes a cameo by Robin Leach from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous!
Injury Reserve - Jailbreak the Tesla
About the magic liquid that makes cars go:
Metallica - Fuel
Rammstein - Benzin
And the briefest mention of a car, Childish Gambino - Sweatpants
Midnight Rider - Allman Brothers
Gary Newman - Cars bonus: Fear Factory Remix, and bonuser: Live with NIN
White Zombie - Black Sunshine
Johnny Cash - General Lee
Chuck Barry - Route 66
Carpenter Brut - Turbo Killer doesn't really have any lyrics, but it does have a music video, which isn't even really about cars, but it's pretty awesome, and has cars in it.
While we're on that aesthetic, the Drive Soundtrack isn't really about driving, but it's great music to drive to.
edit: Bonus: Tracy Chapman - Fast Car
I am a big fan of Phantom Racer by TWRP featuring The Protomen.
In a completely different style, there is also Northwest Passage, which has several different versions. I am partial to Stan Rogers but there is apparently a metal version that I liked better than I thought I would.
Truckfighters - Desert Cruiser
Kyuss - (Beginning of What's About to Happen) Hwy 74
Danava - Riding Hood
Acid King - Drive Fast, Take Chances
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf (This whole album is a loose concept about a desert drive from LA to Joshua Tree. You owe it to yourself to listen to this thing if you haven't yet.)
I don't know how anyone missed Jesus Built My Hotrod by Ministry
I suppose you could also include Dragula by Rob Zombie.
Huh, does Drunk Drivers from Car Seat Headrest count here?
Just going to keep editing this comment as I think of ones that might fit:

Bush - Machinehead
