The company I work for just announced they want to open a new office abroad, in Australia to be specific. We’re based in Denmark, and they’re hoping to have one person from here moving there, working full time.
We already have an office in the US, so it’s not an entirely new thing for us to open an office abroad.
However, I’m really thinking about letting the company know that I would like to go, and I think there is a pretty good chance that they would let me. My wife is open to the idea too. We have one child (she would be just over 3 when we would have to move), so it’s really good timing too…

Have any of you tried something like this? What was your experience like?

A little thing that most recipes leave out is some sort of acid. I like apple vinegar, but a little lemon juice works well too. It really brings out many of the subtle flavors of basil and the cheese.

The one game that I’ve found everyone at least wants to try is Carcassonne. It’s dead simple, pretty luck-based (even though it doesn’t feel that way), and everyone can join. And it looks fun on the kitchen table, so people are easily interested.
It’s a perfect game for house rules too, as you can make it easier or harder, depending on your mood and the players. Playing with children? Just remove some of the harder to understand rules or simplify them. It’s super fun.

My City is great too, it doesn’t require any specific board game knowledge, just a dead simple set of rules in a fun brick placement game.

    Happy Holidays!

If people are offended by a reboot, I think it’ll be a very small number of people in this case.
It was a success if you check the numbers, albeit most of it seems to have come from at-home video sales like VHS… And that’s even though the movie kinda sucks, haha.

Anaconda was my go-to VHS as a child when I wanted to watch a quick, stupid action movie. I loved that movie more than most, I think. I’m excited about a remake!

I find Japan fascinating. I have never been, but I have watched countless documentaries, travel vlogs, food videos, and other cultural tidbits about Japan. I know plenty of people who went there for travel, both work and recreation, and I hope I will be able to visit myself someday. But even so, the country feels lonely and awkward. It's a weird feeling I can't seem to shake. Does anyone feel the same?

Underwear shirts typically last between 20 and 25 times. That means an active shirt with about 28 wears is likely to be nearing the end of its lifecycle, and that a shirt that starts falling apart after 10 uses is no good.

This sounds incredibly bad. I wear underwear shirts daily, and the three or four I have in rotation I have had since before Covid... Each of them has at least a year of daily wear, and only one of them have a tiny hole that doesn't matter. They even fit pretty nicely still.

Disregarding the fact that the CEO apparently admitting they did it, is his voice really so distinct? I don’t know who Jeff Geerling is, and this is the first time I have ever watched one of his videos, but there was nothing in his voice or intonation that made it sound particularly unique to me.

I’m not trying to play down the morals of this topic, but I’m interested in knowing if I was the only one who had these thoughts.

And it's dirt cheap to fly to London from the Scandinavian countries. Here in Denmark, a train ticket from one part of the country to Copenhagen (one-way ticket) is more expensive than a return ticket from my local airport to London (Stansted).

We haven’t had our second yet, but we decided to get another:

It’s hard, for sure, but I’m also of the opinion that people make it sound harder than it is. I was really afraid before we got our daughter, but it has been a breeze after, especially compared to many other big life decisions (getting a house, get a new job etc.).

I think having a child falls very naturally to most people. Having sleepless nights do not, of course, but most people can manage. And some children are much more easy in the first few years than others, it really depends on many factors, some of which we are simply not in control of.

I do think most new parents discover a whole new way of appreciating the little things, and accepting others. This has shifted my perspective on parenthood a lot.
