I've added hacking mechanics & entire driving systems for racing that one of my players participates in. The racing mechanics are especially interesting as I have two systems for that.

    1. A Pre-determined race route that I help narrate points around the city.
    2. A player determined route that incorporates extra rolls to see how effective the route they've chosen works. In this instance the player is responsible for improv narrating. features and landmarks.

The hacking uses a variety of "programs" and "scripts" and operates in a metaverse (Snow Crash not Fuckerberg) style landscape.

Ahhhhh linguistics. The line between things is always murky and disputed. But as far as I'm aware it is in fact a creole that at least in name finds it's roots in the KiKongo language (Congo). It's an English creole with African loanwords and multiple African linguistic structural contributions.

As for your question about creole vs dialect my understanding (limited admittedly) is that a creole is the result of two or more languages mixing to become a pidgin that then becomes a creole once it is passed down. A dialect is more a style (pronunciation, spelling, etc) characteristic to an area.

US here as well. I lived alllll over this country (had a family that moved a lot and then I kept traveling on my own) and I have gotten to experience so many unique micro-regional accents. Some of my favorites reside in the deep south but also New England has some amazingly ye olde style accents you can experience as well.

Though top of the list is probably the Gullah, though technically I suppose it's a whole other language. They live in the lowcountry portion of Georgia, the Carolinas and Florida and it's quite the accent. Maintains some traits dating back to their African heritage. Here's a video of someone speaking Gullah.

The US has an amazing diversity of accents and languages spoken.

I wasn't brought up in the church, though my father did try to "give me" religion after my parent's divorce.

Ultimately I classify myself as an agnostic who accepts that for a finite being to attempt to understand an infinite systems seems foolhardy.

With that said, I did do a fair amount of psychedelics in my day and I am an active community organizer so I have a very humanistic bent to my activities and do believe that in belief humans can find a drive/power of sorts. I think that the only "meaning" to be found is the meaning you provide so I choose to make lessening the suffering of others' mine.

I know it's not really a cookbook proper but, "On Food and Cooking" by Harold Mcgee is a text I hold near and dear as a definitive reference text.

I spent well over a decade in the BBS' and Usenet, just over a decade on Reddit, the next 10 in who knows what but we shall see if Tildes becomes that next decade. I figure if I can get a decade out of a place online before it completely falls apart I'm counting that as a win.

I'm constantly writing for my tabletop campaign. I like to go on walks and figure out character backstories, I plot out their entire lives in order for me to better roleplay them as they come up in the game. I run a system called Fate Core which is very, very roleplay heavy and necessitates tons of improv so I find if I have some tentpole characters I have fully flushed out as people that I can then inhabit them all the better. So I like to walk and write.

Been sitting on this invite for a little bit and finally made use of it. Just another wayward internet traveler from the waaaay way back. Yeah I was on Reddit for many years but before that and before that and before that all the way back to dialup BBS days. I've seen the seasons of sites and tech come and go I suppose. I count nothing as permanent though I do hope this will provide a stable mooring for me to tie up to for a time.

I am an anarchist politically, a long-time community organizer and activist, a technologist, I run Fate Core tabletop campaigns largely set in cyberpunk dystopias, I'm a gay man, an environmentalist and a host of other descriptors that I suppose will come out as I interact over my time here. Thanks for reading if you do. <3

I run a Fate Core for a cyberpunk + precursor artifact discovery scenario campaign set in a future (New) San Francisco.

I adore Fate as a system, minimal crunch (but you can easily add in any needed) as it's actually a system really designed for actors/role players/drama nerd types. To sit at my table you have to be able to and be prepared to role play and improv all the time.

He didn't but he doubled down in the comments section and was challenged by Christian (the Apollo dev) to provide any proof.

His “joke” is the least of our issues. His behavior and communications with us has been all over the place—saying one thing to us while saying something completely different externally; recording and leaking a private phone call—to the point where I don’t know how we could do business with him.

So far he's made 6 9 comments 36 60 minutes in and they've all been either duplicitous, outright lies or just purposefully missing the point.

He's also very purposefully avoiding all the most upvoted questions/comments.
