What is the most recent thing you consumed?
I just finished a piece of pizza (with mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, garlic and steak).

Almonds, the single greatest snack
Haven't eaten any yet but I just got a nice big bag of raw almonds over the weekend. I think I'd give greatest snack to cashews but almonds are definitely up there.
Cheap whiskey, cigarettes, 7-11 chicken. I'm not doing well.
Not doing well as in money or mental health?
A bit of both. I've been unemployed for a while now and it's sorta getting to me. It's one of those vicious cycle things they talk about; a sort of self-reinforcing downward spiral that if I don't snap out of soon, my life is going to continue to get worse.
I like to think it's no big deal, I'm just having a bad month/year kind of thing, but when I typed out what I ate yesterday, it sorta became apparent exactly how bad it looks from an outside perspective. I've really got to do something about this.
That's a better perspective than I was expecting to hear.
Got any friends that could help you out on either of those fronts or are you going solo?
I’m just waiting for this amazing bowl of pho with a beef broth. This place puts a satay in the broth and then a bunch of grilled lemongrass chicken. It’s unbelievable how good this bowl is.
I travel long distances for a good bowl of pho =D
LOL, I just had pizza too... all the talk of pizza I had with CALICO in your thread from a few days ago got me craving it. Although mine was homemade flatbread pizza with prosciutto, smoked pepperoni, sautéed cremini mushrooms and black olives on it.
Mine was kind of homemade, we make pizza at the restaurant I work in so I was able to make it myself.
Heh, yeah I think that's fair to count as "homemade" if you work at a restaurant, made it there and made it yourself for yourself. What kind of restaurant do you work at, if you don't mind my asking?
I am a Sous at a local Brewery, mostly pub fair (and pizza), lots of smoked meats, everything is made from scratch.
Ah Brewpubs... glorious brewpubs.... the best thing to come out of the craft brewing movement (after the awesome variety of excellent new beers, of course)! Overly hopped IPAs can suck a duck though. Yuck. ;)
Burritos, with chorizo, beans, cheese, and some freshly made salsa for fillings. Nothing glamorous, but it tasted good nonetheless :)
Coffee. I'm switching timezones atm in preparation for a flight, so I'm forcing my body to do things it would rather not.
Re-heated spaghetti with blue cheese dressing. Better than parmesan and romano but I use those too. Terribly unhealthy, terribly delicious.
Yogurt with plain muesli, I've been feeling under the weather and this has been the first thing I was able to eat since this morning (it's currently 1:42am)
Salsa Verde Doritos.
Beer: Medusa Brewing Co in Hudson , MA - Soft Machine NEIPA.
White rice, pinto beans and lentils with Caribbean spicing from a shop a few blocks over. First night in NYC, jetlagged and hungry, I went into the first store that looked like it would be good and got the three vegetarian things on the menu. We'll see about more interesting food tomorrow, but for tonight: calories and sleep.
Bacon cheeseburger on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, Havarti dill cheese, and garlic aioli. It was wicked good.
That sounds delicious.
Oh man, that sounds amazing.
just had noodles with grilled chicken chunks in it which is always enjoyable. i'll probably end up having some of it left over as my lunch tomorrow
It was my turn to cook for the week, so dinner was a fairly creditable batch of Instant Pot beef goulash and pappardelle. A bag of potatoes was starting to demand statehood, so two different batches of potato salad also ensued - one with creme fraiche, dill, radishes and lox; the other with stone-ground mustard vinaigrette and tarragon.
Lentil soup for dinner, and a piece of peanut butter toast just now for a snack.
I just had some sun chips. Gotta have them late in the day or my SO won't come near me.
Some homemade partially dehydrated apples. It’s hard to wait until they’re really done.
Hard boiled eggs.
The same breakfast I have every day: toast with butter, cinnamon, honey, and peanut butter, and a cup of Tiny Footprint-brand light roast coffee. It is an amazing breakfast. It took me a while to find the right coffee, but as long as they don't change their roast, it'll be my coffee for life.
Hey! I have some Tiny Footprint Coffee in my kitchen right now. I love to try different coffees from around the country, they make some great stuff.
Nice! Their light roast is, to me, the perfect coffee. Nothing too complex or anything, but so smooth and rich. Kind of a golden flavor, if that makes sense. What roast do you have, and how is it? I'm so hooked on this roast that I've never tried any others (other than the dark roast that was accidentally sent to me), but it wouldn't kill me to try something new.
I have a bag of their Espresso currently, it is very good. I use it in both my pour over set up and in a espresso maker.
Souchong (小种) black tea of Assam. It's smoky and has a crispy aftertaste, reminiscent of burned fields after harvest on a misty day.
Breakfast: Steel cut oatmeal with fermented black beans, dried tiny shrimp, soy sauce, and Chinese hot pepper paste.
"'No anchovies'? You've got the wrong man. I spell my name 'Danger'!" --Firesign Theater, "Nick Danger: Third Eye"
My fiancee is poorly, so I woke her up with a Subway and an Iced Tea. Got myself a footlong Pizziola and - due to my tiny stomach - have been eating it in 3-inch increments all day.
I also filled it with salad which I'm not allowed, but I'll worry about that when the other half is feeling better.
I was chewing a mentos while reading the title..
Just finished a delicious granny smith apple and I'm about to hit some cashews next.
Iced coffee.... Last meal? Leftover flatbread (pizza).
Coffee is a meal in my life.
Huge, sloppy meatball sandwich.
That. Sounds. Amazing.
Currently in the middle of eating some classic trail mix.
A cup of coffee.
