Does anyone have experience with any of the games and, if so, would you recommend them? Is there anything in here that you're particularly excited to play?
I can vouch for hardspace:shipbreaker. The story is... there, and OK, but the core gameloop is incredibly relaxing and engaging at the same time. Dissasembling a ship piece by piece, putting every part in the place it should go, is strangely fun, and its great for just zoning out and destressing.
It also runs perfectly under proton, you dont even realize its a windows exclusive.
I've been waiting for Unpacking to show up in a Humble Choice. Given that Humble themselves published it, it was only a matter of time before it ended up in one of these, right? Well, I went to activate the key and... you guessed it... I already owned the game. 🤦 Literally forgot that I bought it earlier this year. I really should just stop buying games altogether.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker looks interesting. I got 12 enjoyable hours out of Ship Graveyard Simulator which is objectively not a good game, so the idea of playing a high-effort version of something like that is really appealing. I like Humble Choice for surfacing games like this for me. I probably wouldn't have heard about it otherwise.
Everything else looks mildly interesting, with the exception of WWE 2K23, which does nothing for me personally but I'm sure is good for people that like wrestling. I'll hold on to the key for now alongside my extra for Unpacking and save them for the holiday game giveaway thread.FORESHADOWING
Hardspace alone is probably worth this bundle (and a lot of the draw for me) but Unpacking is a nice bonus, though I've already seen most of what it has to offer.
Can't say I'm familiar with much of the rest but they don't look awful.
Unpacking is chill and relaxed - and it tells a story in a very mellow, subdued way. My young son, upon seeing the final screens of the game, asked me "Why is it so beautiful?"
I was gonna pause for this month but SCP and Friends vs Friends are interesting to me, I played FvF at PAX East and I enjoyed it, kinda wish they gave a double copy or something though lol.
Unpacking is very nice and relaxed! It's super cozy and would recommend.
I had a little brain hiccup and thought for a moment you were talking about a game called SCP and Friends.
I've never been so intrigued by a title before.
I've been slowly watching a bunch of animated SCP stuff recently and I'm kinda down for something like that tbh. I think SCP: 5K or something like that is a multiplayer SCP experience lol
Vice versa for me. I cancelled my Humble Choice quite a while ago, but I'm gonna rejoin for this month for SCP and Hardspace: Shipbreaker, both of which I have wanted to play for quite some time now. WWE 2K23 might be fun too though. It's been ages since I last played a wrestling game.
Legend of Tianding instantly turned me off because there's something about Chinese 2.5D action games that just rub me the wrong way - even if they are technically Taiwanese. But then I saw it was published by Neon Doctrine, who have put out some really interesting titles, so I might just give it a go.
Hardspace Shipbreaker is one I was thinking about getting a while back, so I might just give it a go. I hope it performs well on my steam deck, because it looks like it might be a bit much for it. I might also be playing Souldiers for a while just because I'm captivated by how pretty it looks.
But I probably won't start on any of these for a while because I'm weirdly captivated by .hack//G.U. Recode right now.
Just going to echo the rest of the thread and say Hardspace and Unpacking are both great.
Shame about the WWE game. Sports games are pretty much worthless to me.
Aw, Unpacking has been on my wishlist for ages, but it's the first time I'm hearing about the rest of them. Might ask around if anyone has a key they don't need 🤔
