And no, Nintendo being very litigious as hell doesn't mean random unrelated developers deserve to have their personal info being posted online.

Game freak also isn’t Nintendo, or owned by Nintendo.

I'm going to discuss the actual game leaks because all the discussions that I've seen seem to be just dog piling of virtue signalling about how the devs don't deserve this (not criticizing you @phoenixrises, I'm more talking about the dozens of comments on the posts I've seen on Reddit all saying the devs don't deserve it rather than simply using the upvote button).

The fact that the 10th gen Pokemon game is codenamed Gaia seems to be consistent with what I've been surprised to not see predicted from other people online. It's the 10th gen. That's a big deal. I was thinking it would make sense to have a game that connects all the past regions (or maybe just some of them, considering that they refuse to add all Pokemon to any one game or to make unique attack animations or actually make the games good). I think it would be cool to see how they interpret other regions in a more open world style. Still, I don't expect them to a great job of it or to make a game that actually runs well. It would be nice if they could throw the consumers a bone for just the tenth generation, but why do that when they could make nearly the same amount of money while spending significantly less?

I don't think they make games that run poorly because they want to, I just think they can't. They simply don't have the talent and engineering. You can tell they've struggled ever since the switch...

I don't think they make games that run poorly because they want to, I just think they can't. They simply don't have the talent and engineering. You can tell they've struggled ever since the switch to 3D. It's a thing with Japanese companies that they don't do the thing American companies tend to do, where they hyperscale in anticipation of growth curves. Japanese companies are very content being where they are.

And this is the other side of that coin. The grass is always greener. "Why isn't XYZ company just content where they are? Why are they always trying to grow?" Well, gamefreak is content. And it is, what it is.

I genuinely expect them to try some crazy stuff in Legends: Z-A (so hyped for it personally), then take what worked from it and Arceus and attempt to make a banger 10th gen.
