The server operates on a soft whitelist. Anyone can log in and walk around, but you need a Tildes account to gain build access.
The area right next to the Temple of Bloom has been re-bloomed and terraformed. The surrounding chunks (I will post an image marking this later in the day) around the Temple are now under my jurisdiction (apart from the area across the river). This is to ensure the natural harmony, but also serves as a visual add-on detail to the sanctuary feature of the Temple. In other words it makes it pop. The underground houses will also get some love when I finish refurbishing the Temple's outer layer with terracotta. o7

@faye_luna & @Nankeru FYI since you're soon gonna be direct neighbours
Not Tildes server related, but is MC server related so I thought I would share here. My dad and foster brother live on the other side of the city as me and they play minecraft on a LAN world. Today I thought it would be fun to join them, so I used Tailscale to connect to their network, and joined in on the LAN world. I was pleasantly surprised on how smooth of an experience it would be. I was expecting it to be a laggy mess for me, but I did not experience that
Haven't had as much dedicated time as I hoped but when I do was thinking about adding another skyscraper downtown. Have some ideas, will just need to gather the right blocks for it and find a suitable spot/do some landscaping.
At some point I will need to get back to Titanic finish it... Interior probably a loooong ways away but there's still some finer details on the exterior that shouldn't be too bad.
Cool to see that this is still around. I played a bit when it first got created, but havn't been on in ages.
You should hop on and take a tour sometime soon! There are tons of details you can't see on bluemap.
Including a cult.
Alright, will do
@TangibleLight I have cleared and fenced in a space next to the transit hub. If you still planned to build your machine, feel free to use this location whenever you are ready. (-41,86)
And I'd be interested in collaborating with you on the exterior design of it, as I wanted to incorporate it into the transit hub.
Thanks for remembering the project, and thanks for the message! I have not been on in quite a while - life has gotten very busy. What free time I have had, I've been digging into technical redstone more generally, and haven't been so focused on the stasis network itself.
It's one of the situations where perfect is the enemy of the good, and so I don't have a working assembly. I do have lots of partially-working bits, though! And it's been fun!
For example, here's the most dense and featureful wireless receiver I've built. It receives 8-bit messages broadcasted on a 4-bit channel, and has a memory register to get a stable output. It's comparable in volume with double the message size as the previous smallest I showed in my last update, and is much smaller than my much older "behemoth" which receives 8 bits broadcasted on a single channel.
I've also been fiddling with smaller stasis chamber designs. Borrowing concepts from some other folks working on stasis chambers, I built this alignment mechanism which I think is fun to watch. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it working with an entity separator, and it can't read out how many pearls are in the chamber at a given time.
All this to say, I am working on it, but life is busy and progress is slow. Whenever it's ready, I'd love to collaborate on the exteriors!
Well, until something is built there, it makes for a very pretty park. Also a nice landing site coming into town :)
I thought of placing a grave there because it'd make for a great graveyard
That's what it reminded me of! I love the little space :)
To whom it may concern, I've returned the community elytra! Whenever I played last (couple weeks ago, maybe?) I experienced a few unexpected deaths in rapid succession, far from home. So I kept grabbing the community elytra to help me grab my stuff. I must've forgotten to return them the last time it happened. My apologies!
No worries, it was me who put a renamed cookie in the spot of the community elytra & it was mostly to let people know we didn't lose it permanently and we don't have to craft another one in its place
It's not been many of us in recent weeks. I think it's mostly been Daychilde and IsildursBane who've been online the most.
I think this is a really good idea!
Previous talk
Neat, looks good to me :)
I started planning out a zeppelin in creative with the intent of rebuilding it on the server, but ehh. I'm not happy with it and I don't have it in me to rebuild it. But I figured I'd at least share some screenshots :)
https://imgur.com/a/s0yaTv3
While writing this it occurred to me I do have some old zeppelin designs that I still like on an old server back up from forever ago. I even found some screenshots. Maybe I can just schematic some from there? I'll have to think about it https://imgur.com/a/irz6iRH
Been a quiet week on the server (this sometimes happens, I have come to embrace the cyclical nature of this server), but I have made some good progress on my projects.
I have figured out the armour trim ranks and have made all the suits. The following ranks are:
I have also built quarters for most of these soldiers, and have all the armour already made. I am currently working on the Citadel Leader quarters, and I have a placement, just trying to figure out the design (and being cursed with having to work on an even number set for this, when I prefer working in odd numbers).
I have also been trying to figure out what to put at the end of the grand hall. I feel like a giant statue or altar would be best, but haven't had an idea that I think quite fits yet (and no Pickles I will not do a creesch cult altar).
Sorry, you reminded me to make a new thread. You might want to repost.
It's been a busy week, even missed this new thread. I only took one screenshot sort of worth sharing.
@GravySleeve build a really neat aircraft hangar on one of the plots I mentioned last week, more plots are still available as well as the runway itself.
I have made a little start on the facade for the main building but haven't gotten really far.
I note that your screenshot doesn't render out to the pyramid.
This is pyramid erasure!!
Lol, I had to reduce the DH render distance a little while ago. It is not on purpose, I very much enjoy seeing the pyramid complex grow.
Pretty sure I've fixed the issue with community storage. Just as a PSA, please avoid dumping large amounts of the same block if it isn't a block that automatically gets packed into shulkers (such as dirt/sand/cobble/etc). There were way too many Iron Blocks in there! :D
@IsildursBane
“Our automatic sorter stops working when you put too many iron blocks in it”
First world Minecraft problems. 😂
Iron blocks are now added to the bulk storage system. There are still two slices left in the bulk storage if there is one or two things we want to add. Also, I am considering at @TaylorSwiftsPickles suggestion of wool in bulk storage, but that would require adding in more slots (
and maybe another chunk loaderI checked and it should actually fit in the current chunk loaded area) so it would take a few hours to buildTbf we have so absurd amounts of iron blocks that it makes sense to have them be packed automatically if it's easy to configure. Ideally also for all wool but not as needed.
Expanding to include iron blocks is pretty easy, as I think we have an empty slice or two in bulk storage. Wool would be a bit harder, as it would require an expansion (and potentially another chunk loader), but honestly should only take a few hours. I might add in the wool this weekend, and I will add the iron this weekend (I am currently away from Tildes Town so will not be able to add the iron right away, but someone else could if they want).
So part of my base is going to have guards, with all the same armour trims, but different armour materials and trim colours. This will signify rank, and just create some fun lore for my base. However, I am struggling with some rank colours and could use some input.
The following ranks, from lowest to highest are:
For the two highest trims, I was originally going to do diamond trim and then netherite trim, but I tested in creative and the netherite on netherite was too subtle. So now trying to figure out what would be a good way to show the hierarchy?
You could keep the idea to use diamond as second highest, and then use quartz as "platinum". Or depending on how you feel about the hierarchy, "platinum" could sit in between gold and diamond. Or insert Iron trim in there somewhere (maybe between gold and copper), and move diamond to the top.
I do have iron at the bottom, and do want to keep the copper and gold sequential.
I think the idea of decoupling the rarity of the resource and the ranks is probably something I should do
I would do red, gold, and purple for the three color options personally.
I forgot about the option of redstone. That is a useful reminder
To Gravy's point, it might be worth it to decouple the "value" of materials in your mind and play around with color in creative.
Edit because I didn't want to spam more comments: You could also think of these colors as more of divisions rather than rank. My mind is wandering toward how there are 3 divisions a soldier may choose in the anime Attack on Titan. They use patches in the show, but colors and patterns could also be used.
Whenever I think about tiers of rank or rarity, I can’t help but default to the colours used by lots of video games for item rarity (I think Elder Scrolls Online would have the highest play time for me) so lowest to highest trim colours would be:
Grey (iron)
White (quartz)
Green (emerald)
Blue (lapis)
Purple (amethyst)
Gold (gold)
Red (redstone)
So today I was talking with @Chaosphoenix_28 and they are building a train station as their base, north of my base. We talked about options of including it in the transit system. Currently, it is kind of in a deadzone of existing train lines (pretty much above the de lign line). I marked it with a red x
A few options I shared of what could be done:
I think the second option could be really cool, and move us away from our current hub and spoke model. I enjoy our hub and spoke model, but it does become a bit harder to plan serving new areas, or creating new lines since the transit hub is nearly full, with limited options for expansion unless we expand downward.
If we were to add more lines, it would probably need several people, as doing more lines with one person is a big task. @daychilde does doing transit lines interest you or do you want to stay on doing roads only?
IMO, @Chaosphoenix_28's base is at the perfect location to get onboarded onto the De Lijn line with almost zero effort (but if it's a train station, yeah, it'd be a little awkward). Same for @Merry's house. It would only take a few minutes of digging to get them both onboarded, and it's short enough that I'd be happy to do that. I'd also update the end map I've created. Just let me know!
A northbound line feels very redundant to me when we have the De Lijn line. There is some merit in creating a line that goes northwest to the wool farm, and to Talon's area, but IMO it'd take more or less exactly as much work/time as onboarding them both to the De Lijn line (it's actually much faster to onboard things than you'd think!). There may or may not also be plans for @chewonbananas to onboard the temple of bloom there but I'm not sure.
Sadly I'm not going to be onboarding those myself as I've kind of figured I have next to 0 interest in the server anymore and I've not been feeling it lately. My interests have shifted elsewhere and I've not really played any game in months. So I may be dropping out of the server altogether, apart from maybe logging in for 10-15 minutes to chat with some folks.
Yeah, I do agree that The De Lijn Line makes the most sense logistically, but not thematically. I kind of suspected that onboarding new stops would not take that long. I view Line Line as more of a practical transport whereas rail lines are more just decorative. Personally, if I want to get somewhere in the north, Line Line is the most efficient way, and my preferred travel. However, rail lines are a more scenic travel mode (and act as guided tours in a sense) and just have a different vibe. I think there could be merit in having both in the north, but also adding a train line(s) would be a bit redundant.
Very glad to help!
edit: Poke me when there's work to do. :)
Of all those option 3 seems the least feasible simply due to real estate close to town. I like the other options. One other option would be to branch of the cyan line instead of the red line.
Edit: Extending the lime line works really well from the transit hub btw. Could either go underground entirely or be a third bridge over the river.
Option 3 seemed quite unlikely, and I thought a basement would be the only way to do it. While our current transit system services a majority of builds, we are limited on expansion if we continue the hub and spoke model (but I also doubt the need for much expansion).
Glad to hear lime line expansion is feasible. I didn't inspect the transit hub for feasibility and only suggested it due to it seeming the logical choice.
The cyan line would work as well, but would probably need to be a branch. For both cyan and red, I feel like it is too much of a detour for it to flow logically.
